I'm not naysaying, I'd love if they did, but I doubt any team would sign him if it meant paying us that amount. |

Re: Denver Will Be Payton’s Next Job
An article, I believe on PFT, indicated that whether or not coaching contracts toll when the coach sits out or whether rights are held indefinitely like a player is a legal question that has not been tested. So a team could wait until 2025 to sign Payton and instead of giving up picks they get sued by the Saints and maybe have their head coach sitting out with an injunction. If a team that has some extra picks or extra depth at some positions wants Payton its certainly simpler to make a decent roster offer than to wait until 2025 and get sued.

In fact After Parcells’s Giants won the Super Bowl in 1991, he retired and then signed with NBC Sports to serve as an analyst for its football broadcasts. (Sound Familiar?) In 1993 he became head coach of a New England Patriots |

I don’t know the circumstances around him leaving the Giants, that was pre world wide web.

Re: Denver Will Be Payton’s Next Job
Coach is already living in SoCal … lived there for 8 years love the weather, ocean desert loved it all … except 13% income tax and property tax.
Don’t think Denver will be the choice, it been said he wants warm climate. He is currently 25 minutes from SoFi right now. Would choose Russell Wilson on his downhill run, or Justin Herbert your QB for the next 12-15 years. Don’t think Coach wants reclamation project jumping back into it. Just saying … Thinking the coach is gone in LA regardless if the make the playoff or not. |

Re: Denver Will Be Payton’s Next Job
We need a way to get back into the first round and select a QB because injuries and QB play are holding this team back. Payton could give us back one last gift. I have a lot of respect for the way Andy Dalton is playing right now, but it's not good enough and we'll have multiple mediocre seasons in a row with him as the QB if we were healthy.
