When he came out of college I thought Mayfield would be really good. He seemed a good player and leader but now he has flamed out in two different places, that makes you wonder.

It might piss off Baker too ... he probably requested to be waived at this time to try to be a part of a playoff contender, especially San Fran.

We are a contender to appear in the playoffs in the sense that Qatar appeared in the world cup. I think we are less likely to win it all than Qatar was. But Mickey Loomis is willing to spend as much as Qatar to make it happen.
