Alright. That's enough. |

I was all in on CJ Stroud but the more I think about it if I’m the Saints brass I get as many 2024 first round picks for Payton I can and do everything you can to get Caleb Williams. I think he’s the next sure thing and could settle our qb situation for the next 10-15 years. Run with Andy and taysom one more year. Just an idea, but may be fools gold.

I wouldn't mind seeing Carr or Mayfield under C, build around them. A good run game, a TE and better depth for the O. They could roll. Got to get the D fixed up front and the backfield. Wouldn't hurt to see another cover lb. either.

Re: Potentially Available QB's for 2023
I think the Saints best short term option is to move on from JW, bring back Andy and sign another veteran to compete with him for the starting job. There is no one on the list that I would break the bank for, including Lamar Jackson if he by some slim chance becomes available. I want to see the Saints draft a legitimate QB prospect in 2023, and would also like to see at least 1 free agent rookie land on the practice squad.
As for Sean Payton, I don't think he will come back to the Saints unless the front office wants DA gone. He would never push his friend out the door. I don't see him wanting anything to do with the Indy or Carolina jobs, I don't think he would touch Houston if it becomes open. I think it will come down to two choices for SP. Denver of course is the obvious, and I believe they would gladly compensate the Saints with their 2023 draft pick that they obtained from the 49ers. The one that I think he would really jump on is the Arizona job if it opens up. I don't think Arizona will give up a #4 pick for him, but could see them packaging their 2nd round and a couple additional later picks as compensation. The main reason I believe SP would jump on the Arizona job is their unique situation at QB and healthy salary cap. Kyler Murray is a great talent, and if there is any issue with his attitude SP should be able to fix that pretty quick. With that said, Murray of course will be coming off an ACL injury and likely not ready at the start of the season. That to me creates the perfect opportunity to bring in Tom Brady for the 2023 season, which will pump up their fan base tremendously and give SP the opportunity to instantly compete for a Super Bowl. |

I also would like to get Trask from the Bucs to compete. He wouldn't cost much. I like his arm.

Trask is under contract with the Bucs through 2024. The Bucs drafted him in the 2nd round. Why would they trade him to a division rival especially since Brady is likely gone after this season?

As for Winston, he'll end up as a cap casualty in 2023. IMO nothing will change until the coaching staff is re-shuffled. Otherwise, they could ruin a high draft pick at QB. Again, I'm just a couch coach though |

Re: Potentially Available QB's for 2023
I'm not sure why, but I keep having visions of Payton as the Chicago Bears head coach. It goes against the warm weather theory, but he did grow up in Illinois and played at Eastern Illinois University.
I could see him want the challenge of bringing one of the most historic teams in the NFL back to greatness. They have a young QB who many think could be a star, and one who you could say is a better version of Taysom Hill. The biggest problem is they just hired a new coach last year. But it's the NFL, which stand for 'not for long' if you don't win. |
