Can't Guard Mike

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I've said it all along - we are better with MT than without. As a fan, I'm just over it all - the same way I'm over guys like Peat......

There was one person in particular who had all of the insight and just assumed he would pull a Bill Cowher move & stay in the Fox booth. Yeah right .

Guess we'll see what happens with MT this off-season.

At this point, I could care less if he stays or goes.
Tend to agree. Nonerheless there is a part of me that secretly wants him to make up for his lack of playing and earn the rest of his contract .

Can't get those years of production(lack of) back. i think he's a very talented guy but his contract and being consistanly hurt( his fault or not) makes me want to replace him. i not looking for a game changer like he can be but someone who has the ability to produce well when his # is called and can stay healthy and comes way cheaper. A good 2nd rounder this year would do well with what we have now.

I suppose that most of us feel this way. The guy is a terrific WR. No one but Thomas knows if he's giving 100% effort or if he got his money and mailed it in. Signs point to mailing it in when he made himself unavailable to the organization of which he is employed but again, no one but Thomas knows where his heart is.

Tell your coaching staff to not encourage injured guys to play through it for other players careers

Re: Can't Guard Mike

Players want more guaranteed money in their contracts.

I wonder if enough stats exist to present an argument that players are held out more often today due to load management, etc.

Can't have it both ways.

L'arte Imita La Vita! see and or read "North Dallas Forty"
It was happening then and it is still happening!! Cry me a river!!
Little Known Trivia: Did You Know?

The NFL didn't take kindly to those who participated in the making of "North Dallas Forty." Hall of Famer Tom Fears, who advised on the movie's football action, had a scouting contract with three NFL teams -- all were canceled after the film opened, reported Leavy and Tony Kornheiser in a Sept. 6, 1979, Washington Post article. And the Raiders severed ties with Fred Biletnikoff, who coached Nolte. "Freddy was not even asked back to camp," writes Gent. Tommy Reamon, who played Delma, was cut by the 49ers after the film came out, and said he had been "blackballed."
