As long as this is entertainment and not a real sport there is no way that the NFL will relinquish their control of the game with manipulative calls by the referee. The referees are either incompetent or biased and it is becoming more obvious every year to more and more fans.

Even with full-time officials there are going to be missed calls. There is no way to eliminate them. No matter how well trained they are they are unfortunately human. The only solution is to have challenges available for every play.
