My concern with Carr is there was a big decline in his performance in 2022, compared to 2018-2021. I didn't follow the Raiders close enough to understand why numbers dropped so bad, I guess all we can hope for is he is good moving forward.

I honestly think he just lost his focus with the Raiders and needs somewhere else to restart fresh. Trust me, he's still got it. Even though he had a drop in 2022, I still saw IT. When it comes to QBs, the thing to watch for is how they position their body and move around that pocket while maintaining good awareness of the field. Throwing off your back foot causes more horrible interceptions than anything and is a complete breakdown of footwork and timing. Your best guys have such good awareness that they get to the right spots which allows them to get so far down their read trajectory. I've seen guys with clean pockets in the NFL throw off their back foot because they just sniff a little pressure. You can't blink as a QB. You have to manipulate the pocket and get rid of the ball. There is nothing more multifaceted than QB play and is a very hard thing to predict, but I definitely see something rare in him. He has the potential to do everything the greats could do, he just has to actualize it.

Man, I wish Payton would have gotten a shot with him. Payton will probably lead the Broncos to like a 9-8 or 8-9 record or something, which would be pretty amazing. As is though, that team cannot compete. Russel Wilson as the QB makes that impossible, I have no idea why he went there. Perhaps he likes making the best out of tough situations.
