Wrong- not much after the first stringers. Twenty four unanswered points. The backups missed a lot of tackles today and we gave up too many yards after first contact. Busted coverage giving up big plays. Haener threw his first interception.

Re: What Went Right & What Went Wrong

The usual suspects looked sharp ...

DCarr, AK, JuwanJ & the rookie A.T. Perry (6/6 targets).

Not sure what Jeff Duncan was talking about but Payton Turner looked solid & same could be said for Granderson.

Still kinda concerned about the depth at RB & the O line.

Looking forward to those joint practices with the Chargers in a week or so.

I think Breesse is gonna be a major disrupter in a year or two. Isaiah Foskey was MIA today. Looks slow.

But hey, it's only pre season game #1.

The defending champs gave up 17 unanswered points to begin the game with their 1st and 2nd string. Does that mean they are in trouble? Just asking for a friend.

WR5 and/or WR6 are the bubble. He may have slipped in there for sure.

Re: What Went Right & What Went Wrong

Was a little disappointed about how Isiah Foskey looked.

On his college tape, he jumped off the screen with his get off and ability to get to the QB.

I've just gone back and watched the snaps he was in for and he was really lackluster.

Not setting the edge on outside runs, played VERY slow, zero pass rush moves besides trying to get around the outside.

Hoping he can pick it up, but other guys really showed more than he did.

Not getting here early has its consequences. He's probably banking on his draft status. Still he is a ND grad I think. So he should be smart enough to pick things up quickly. I hope we don't have to utter the phrase "What The Foskey"!

Pretty much this. On the good, Perry looks like he has potential. Seeing Thomas catch a pass was encouraging (I was nervous when I saw him slide for the catch). Didn’t notice big injuries except Miller. Liked Merriweather against their 3s. I’m still iffy on Haener…started shaky but rallied.

Bad… general run blocking; not a lot of holes. Not impressed with Blake G as he shanked one. Quite a few penalties in general.

Edit…I forgot about 2 takeaways! Didn’t get enough of those last year !
