No defense is ever easily top 5. Whether we were top 5 last year depends on which common metric you pick. We were 9th in points allowed, 6th in yards allowed, 5th in yards per play allowed, 31st in takeaways, and 32nd in drives ended by turnover. Overall we were not a top 5 defense last year. But even a top 5 defense has a very hard time repeating as a top 5 defense the next year, most don't.

Gotta do better here. And you're right, we were NOT a top 5 defense last year. Some people just like to sugarcoat s***.

Takeaways.

We were only better than the LV Raiders in this dept for 2022.

Some people may sugarcoat and other choose to smear their own **** all over instead. I'll take the sugar, thank you very much.

Re: What Went Right & What Went Wrong

I'd keep an eye on the Philly Feagles final roster cuts.

They have a few players that could start (probably why they were in the SB last season) on a lot of NFL teams. Specifically the offensive line.

James Hurst may take over Peat's spot by mid season.

Okay. Which of the players that the Eagles cut from this are starters on other teams? Or was that just hyperbole?

He may have already taken Peat's spot. Peat isn't able to put up a fight right now....again.

Yeah. I was about to say the same. There's no reason why Peat couldn't take over that swing depth position. He may stay healthy longer not starting.
