We lost today …. Most definitely not good
Offense scored 16 … STILL not good enough
We are still 2-1 …….. Not Bad
Defense has allowed an average of 17 PPG 18 high … Take that every week
Next week our 53 plays their 53 …. Can’t wait
An 0-2 team beat 2-0 juggernaut cowboys team… now that’s good stuff. 😇
Undisputed … must watch tomorrow

Signed Rosie since 67 … it’s all about perspective.

Kendre Miller's last two carries went for 6 and 4 yards. Pretty strong runner too. However, after that, he never got another touch (3rd quarter) again today.

Pete Carmichael is a bad play-caller. Dennis should have upgraded this off-season.

Pete and Dennis are bad picks. We already knew this. Dennis is a great DC and Pete is a great QB coach, but that's it. We shouldn't expect anything more. Hate that Carr got injured but I feel that this is our future. Losses will come by the dozen, buy I'm drunk and anger so what do I know lol.....

Rumor has it our division is hot garbage and we couldn't beat a #2/3 team in another weak division with a .500-ish caliber record this year and last that is a starting a long term backup QB and missing their LT, LG, WR1, RB1, and CB1. Whoever wins this garbage division, the Lions vs Falcons game is a preview of what will happen to them.

Garbage
Arron Rogers was a backup for 3 years before he wasn’t
Saints
#1 RB missing
#2 RB missing
#2 CB missing
FS missing
RG out first half
#1 QB out 3rd Qtr

Viewed thru clear view lenses … or maybe it’s context not content.

RB and Paulson Adebo aren't the reason we loss.....I get your point definitely wasn't A-team on
the field

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread

Last time I checked the GB Packers didn’t have …

No Christian Watson
No Jaire Alexander
No Elgton Jenkins
No David Baktiari
No Aaron Jones

** key contributors & starters

Saints had a 17 point lead entering 3 quarters.

Coaching, terrible Oline play & “offensive” play calling is where people should focus on.

Can’t keep pointing at injuries.

Kamara and Aaron Jones are comperable though we were missing Kamara and Maye due to suspensions we knew for years were coming sooner or later which is different than unexpected injury.

Jaire Alexander is more like if we were missing Lattimore, an elite pro bowl type corner, no Adebo a marginal starting corner.

Baktari or whetever his name is a big name Tackle, more equivalent to if we were missing Ramcyzk.

Watson is the Packers best receiver. More like if we were missing Olave though Olave is a little better.

I dont know that we will play a team with as many injuries as the Packers had today for the rest of the year. This was a chance. Allen blew it.

The Packers were 9-8 last year. Love is looking better than expected but in the past he looked like a bust who never impressed in limited time. So you take a 9-8 team, knock out 5 key starters, and downgrade their QB from a hall of famer to a unproven late first rounder who has looked like a bust in the past, and we can’t beat them. Yeah our QB went down for 1.5 quarters but thats bc he likes to hold the ball and our oline doesnt like to block, and we are supposed to have one of the best backups. But we lose. Typical Dennis Allen. Not a head coach this side of the Canada border.

That first down taysom playcalled killed it us fourth wasn't he time for that. Almost look like they were trying to run out the clock instead of moving the ball. This definitely on DA and Pete. The defense held for as long as a defense could. We gotta see what happens. Oline is the biggest problem hands down

Never said that Rells, but the slot CB that replaced Taylor in the slot because Taylor had play in place of our #2 outside CB. The replacement slot CB was picked on and gave up the go ahead TD. You can’t pick selected facts to further your talking points and not present relative FACTS when trying to further your know dislike of all things Saints.

Facts are stubborn opinions are like the tides that rise and fall. :bng:

A fair argument can be made that our offensive line is less of a weakness than our coaching staff. Whats more, its very hard to get other oline starters during the season, but experienced coaches are readily available.

If only we had an alternative at slot CB. Roby was watching the game at home. Maybe he could think of one. But no, the Dennis Allen would lose face. Yidiam just needs to keep doing what he is doing if Adebo misses more time. And if Yidiam needed more help, thats something the announcers need to tell Allen and he needs some time to receive the message. What is a head coach supposed to, make adjustments in real time based on their own observations? And speaking of Taylor, he was horrible at CB2. Really obvious why we moved him to slot, started Adebo this year, and cut Roby. Taylor is clearly going to be happy as a slot corner given how he was humbled this game.

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread

I guess once we cut Roby the league that is always looking for seasoned backup CB’s apparently had similar evaluations, Roby sits. I personally have no insight other 31 teams passed on by.

Isaac Yiadom actually looked pretty serviceable as a backup corner having to start. He had several PBU’s and the pass interference on both he and Taylor was very questionable to me. The likelihood of us being four and five deep with Marshon Lattimore’s at that position is improbable. They should have had Lattimore follow Doubs and play man all game while everybody else played zone. That would have helped out with some of the scrambling too. People tend to only remember the bad plays for certain guys. Yiadom has some potential. I like him. Roby definitely needed to be cut. He’s not that guy anymore and he was at his best in a zone which we don’t run nearly as much as man.

Let's talk facts then. Marshon Veteran corner gave up a 2pt conversion. Demarco Davis gave up a te on fourth goal. Derek Carr Missed a TD to MT on the same play Chris Olave dropped a TD, No Pass rush with two starting oline from Greenbay out. Taylor played the slot today 27 was the outside corner on that play what are you talking about ? And he still had a good game he had multiple pass break ups today. He didn't miss tackle 1v1 On FOURTH down vs a QB.

I define think Issac played a pretty good game today. Especially for the lack of pass rush the Seconday help it down the front seven was lacking a bit today

I would argue the oline is the biggest issue. And has been for a while. Coaching needs improvement too

That 2pt conversion and missed tackle on fourth goal hurt

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread

DD make that tackle different game. Idk what Marshon was doing on that 2pt conversion trying to do too much should remained focused on his assignment. Saints defense definitely gave the offense enough chances to win but they weren't perfect. On top of a special teams td. Ryan getting abused today. Next season oline has to be priority problem has gone on long enough

Yeah, the Packers embarrassed our Leaders on defense in the 4th quarter.

DD had a similar play last year when we blew the game Vs bucs, where he missed a goal line tackle and they won.

And Marshon, ugh, he plays so well but I don't know what he was doing there. Seemed to be in a world of his own just watching the guy catch it.

I’m probably comparing apples to oranges here but remember
when Bama was having SERIOUS O LINE issues a couple of seasons ago?

Bryce Young was the QB & was sacked over 40 times in one year.

That OLine coach was Doug Marrone :(.

Saban only tolerated that nonsense for one season.

Fast forward to now …. Saints lead the league in sacked allowed and our Oline coach is Doug Marrone.

Too many talented guys upfront losing their matchups.

Bad Oline coaching in New Orleans for sure.

Didn't Doug Marrone get replaced here once before? I seem to recall that he wasn't very good but DA had a comfort level with him, so he's back. I'm not impressed....not in the least!

dizzle88 09-25-2023 01:52 PM

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread

Remember how long Payton kept Gary Gibbs around, when he blew game after game with bad coaching.

If DA really cares about this team, he'll show Marrone the door, and soon.
