Ugh TD would have been nice there.

Not a fan of that play call on 3rd

So was Olave … guess you can’t catch them all.

I’ve been wanting to see that more down there in the red zone. Good play. Good throw. Just a drop.

MT wide open in the back of the Endzone. Derek Carr not the answer here. Nice bandage not the answer though

Olave was out even if he catches it. MT was not.

I like Charmichael’s gameplan so far. Vilma has commented as well.

That pass hit Olave right on the numbers. That’s not on Carr.

I feel that butMT was wide open in the back of the endzone and it was a safer throw

3 score lead …

Expect GB/Love to force it 2nd half, subsequent pick.

Snatch their soul, leave no doubt.

Yes it is he had a easier throw if he goes through his progessions he's locking in on WRs pre snap.

Olave was his first read and he was open. There wasn’t a reason to progress to his second read. It’s unfortunate we didn’t score a TD there but it happens.

Olave throw was forced even the announcers said it he was covered. MT was WIDE OPEN. Way more open than Olave.

Carr had 2 defenders in his throwing lane between him and Thomas. Good play but like rez stated good play just a drop :bng:

Physics clearly shows that if he had used the force generated by catching the ball as a vector to oppose his momentum of falling out of bounds, his feet would have had enough friction drag coefficient to secure a purchase in the Endzone

The Falcons are down ten at the half against the Lions.

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread

Olave maybe gets his left foot inbounds. I think the drop broke his concentration.

How can he be truly covered when the ball hit him in his chest?

Man go rewatch the play back pylon it's a TD. Olave had two defenders by him. I.E that's why MT was wide open

I’ll call that probably the best 1st half I’ve seen in a while.

The drop is on Olave. It was bad read good throw.

Well, I’ll agree we had contributions from all three phases.

Yeah. He could have had it. He gets a pass for his earlier catch though.

I did rewatch just what I saw Rell … again not an issue if Olave makes that catch.

Bruh you playing semantics with words "truly covered" Go rewatch the play then come talk to me. MT was clearly open for a back pylon TD and a easier throw. Thats my point. He throw the ball to MT it's a TD not a dropped pass

I’d go back to that play again and see if they guard Thomas.

Not issue if he makes the easier throw either. Wouldn't have to "fit it" in a tight window. Defense gave us a td to MT you take it.

The point I’m making is plays are called for specific people. That play was obviously called for Olave and he was open. If your first read is open you don’t even look at your second read. I could see if the corner was in front of him ready to jump the route but he wasn’t. The corner stumbled and it gave Olave space to get open. He just dropped the ball fam.

I just noticed that both us and the Texans are up 17 to nothing on the road in games that We were both underdogs. Let’s see what happens with the calls in both games.

We are married to Carr for the long term. There is no moving on. To get under the cap for 2024 we have to restructure his contract this offseason. That would put the dead cap hit to move on in 2025 at $51 million. Then in 2025 we won't be able to afford that $51 million cap hit and we will need to restructure him again in the offseason before 2025 which will put the dead cap hit to move on in 2026 at something like $56 million. If Carr is marginally playable with the most optimistic possible spin and excuses we will restructure his $50 million 2026 base salary into a long term extension to remain a Saint through 2030 or so in order to spread out the cap hit. If Carr is completely unplayable and a job we will designate him a post-June 1 cut in 2026 offseason and split the dead cap hit at about $23 million per year in 2026 and 2027. If Carr is a Bandaid, he is a very expensive bandaid. Thats why I would have preferred bandaids like Mayfield, Love, Huntley, etc.

Is Alontae Taylor becoming our Ronnie Lott?

Do the young whippersnappers even know who Ronnie Lott is ?

Keep both offense and defense playing full out for 4 quarters.

This defense is awesome. Yes, that was a “thunt“ but Lonnie who?
