That’s why many Saints fans are tired of the excuses on why we can’t get it done with the level of talent. And their defense hasn’t skipped a beat without Demeco.

Coaching is top tier though .

Niners, Philly & Dallas are tough outs in the NFC.
Amazing isn't it about QB Purdy? Our very own Jake Haener should be close to this guy. We won't see him for a while. Brock Purdy didn't play until late in the season for SF. It does take time to assimilate the play book.

If we had their head coach Carr, Winston, and Haener would all be balling. That scheme is beautiful. It opens up so much opportunity.

You can say that every mid to late round QB should be Brady, Purdy, or Cousins etc but the truth is that the vast majority of QBs drafted in these later rounds are not stars. You can't just take a 5th rounder and expect they will be close to Brady because he was a 5th rounder or because there was some vaguely similar biographical element like being stuck behind an entrenched starter most of his college career but having good size and a live arm. Haener is a lottery ticket until he proves otherwise. He could be the next Purdy but there are 20 other failed mid round picks he could be like instead. He could also be like 1998 6th round pick John Dutton of the Miami Dolphins who was drafted in hopes of being a successor to Dan Marino but instead became a 2x Arena Bowl champion and later the fictional governor of Montana. So it is just as likely that Jake Haener will go on to be a fictional livestock commissioner n cable TV as that he will be the next Brock Purdy.
