+1. That Rams schedule has been brutal.

Chargers, Niners (twice), Seahawks, Eagles, Ravens, Cowboys were tough opponents.

Sadly, the Saints couldn't take advantage of their cupcake schedule.

It's all on the coaches shoulders. We need to fire Dennis Allen and Petey Carmichael this offseason.but, alas......keep chopping wood. It's going to be a cold winter.

Rez -

I noticed that Dennis benched Alontae Taylor last night. Sean McVay/Highland Park was picking on him quite a bit but was he performing that poorly?

My concern is that once you lose confidence as a young DB, it's over.

Your thoughts?

Benches Taylor for getting beat in coverage.

Doesn't bench Carr in prior game when he only had 37 yards passing in 3 quarters.

Allen logic/hypocrisy at its finest and that's the bigger problem, not actually the benching itself.

For what it's worth, there are some things people are upset about from last night's game that I'm less hostile about -

1) The stat-padding when the game was out of reach - I called out Brees and Payton on this on multiple occasions in the past and was one of the few to do it. Who knows, we might have gotten one more season out of Brees without all the garbage time yards on his arm and also gotten more training for his backups. Didn't like it when Carr did it either ... but I think others should keep that same energy when better teams/QB's do it too.

2) The onside kick attempt - Given that we had recently had a big special teams play in the game and had some momentum in that regard, I didn't mind that much giving it a shot.

I had concerns about Taylor in the slot from the moment I started hearing he was working there. Slot corner is a completely different world. I wouldn’t say he’s done though. A benching can make you or break you depending on your personality. We won’t know that until next year though. There’s nothing he can do at this very moment to get where he needs to be as a player.

But hey, Mrs. B gave him a game ball... so he's got that going for him... which is nice.

Stocking stuffer since there is room without the ring.

I do like what I see out of Jordan Howden.

He always seems to battle and contest passes, and he's played in the slot at times.

Maybe that's the way forward. Alontae has struggled for a while, it was just very noticeable Vs the Rams.

He is quite frankly awful at tackling. PJ Williams wasn't great, but he was a good tackling corner.
