It's all on the coaches shoulders. We need to fire Dennis Allen and Petey Carmichael this offseason.but, alas......keep chopping wood. It's going to be a cold winter.

Rez -
I noticed that Dennis benched Alontae Taylor last night. Sean McVay/Highland Park was picking on him quite a bit but was he performing that poorly? My concern is that once you lose confidence as a young DB, it's over. Your thoughts? |

Re: OBSERVATIONS FROM SAINTS (PRIMETIME WITH PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS) LOSS TO THE RAMS
For what it's worth, there are some things people are upset about from last night's game that I'm less hostile about -
1) The stat-padding when the game was out of reach - I called out Brees and Payton on this on multiple occasions in the past and was one of the few to do it. Who knows, we might have gotten one more season out of Brees without all the garbage time yards on his arm and also gotten more training for his backups. Didn't like it when Carr did it either ... but I think others should keep that same energy when better teams/QB's do it too. 2) The onside kick attempt - Given that we had recently had a big special teams play in the game and had some momentum in that regard, I didn't mind that much giving it a shot. |

Re: OBSERVATIONS FROM SAINTS (PRIMETIME WITH PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS) LOSS TO THE RAMS
I had concerns about Taylor in the slot from the moment I started hearing he was working there. Slot corner is a completely different world. I wouldn’t say he’s done though. A benching can make you or break you depending on your personality. We won’t know that until next year though. There’s nothing he can do at this very moment to get where he needs to be as a player.

He always seems to battle and contest passes, and he's played in the slot at times. Maybe that's the way forward. Alontae has struggled for a while, it was just very noticeable Vs the Rams. He is quite frankly awful at tackling. PJ Williams wasn't great, but he was a good tackling corner. |
