Re: Official 2024 Free Agency Discussion
Justin Fields being traded for a 2025 6th that could become a 4th. That would have been a deal worth doing. Well if you wanted a QB that could challenge the starter

Re: Official 2024 Free Agency Discussion
He couldn't cut it as a starter already. Why would you think he'd suddenly change? That's why he's being replaced.

Don’t we have like gazillion lower rd picks? Definitely could have made a move. Carr has no threats behind him or guys to push him to the next level, we just bring in Petersen A lot of the successful franchises just aren’t afraid to make moves. |

Re: Official 2024 Free Agency Discussion
I wouldn’t have minded sending a 5th for Fields. I’m not sure what direction this franchise is headed in though. I hate the outlook that the fans have right now, and I’m just as pessimistic as most everybody else. I’m hoping for brighter days.

If you're the Bears you reset the QB position with a chance of getting CJ Stroud in Williams. 4 years on a cheap rookie QB. But Fields could not be around for the transition. The Bears were handcuffed and had to unload him. Pittsburgh could afford it because the Broncos are paying Wilson. And if after a year, they don't see what they want in Fields, they can cut him loose after paying a song this year. We've seen it over and over again in both directions with QBs. QBs who don't fit with the team that drafted them but do well later (Goff, Mayfield). QBs who get the big money with their drafting teams then flame out (Wentz). It's all a crap shoot. No one knows if Fields is a starting or a franchise QB. I would not be surprised after working with both Fields and Wilson in the offseason, that the Steelers decide to go into the season with Fields. The kid got dealt a crappy hand with the Bears. Having a running game, a decent offensive line, and a superior defense may unlock the flashes of talent we've seen the last 3 years. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
