He is arguably the best QB in team history.

Carr could have cut it for the Raiders but unfortunately they adopted this silly motto a few decades earlier regarding a ‘Committment to Excellence” where a poor mans Matt Ryan won’t cut it. Lots of guys have crazy stats in this offensive era but if you believe those Romo and Prescott are the best QBs in Cowboys history, Winston is the best QB in Bucs history, and Matt Ryan is better than any QB the 49ers, Cowboys, Raiders, Giants, Chiefs, or Redskins with their combined loads of Super Bowls ever had.

Maybe some feel the way about him that you do Cesar Ruiz.

That's possible.

How'd that turn out for the Raiders, huh? They've had four different QB's since deciding to move on from Carr and all four had worse passer ratings than Derek Carr with the Saints. By the way, Carr's passer rating was 10th among all starters in 2023. Imagine what he could do with a "real" OC designing and calling plays.

With Peterman in camp, Taylor may have an opportunity to build confidence in the slot during training camp and restore fans confidence with countless interceptions in 1:1 drills off Peterman. How that will translate to real games remains to be seen.

If Peterman is on this roster after the final cuts, Jake Haener was a wasted pick.

Peterman is horrible.

A perennial clipboard holder. I think he only had a run of a few good games as a replacement that even put him on the map.

Peterman was brought in to help train our DB's. Underrated move.

For 14 years you considered Pete Carmichael to be an offensive coordinator so good you predicted his team would go undefeated. Then he gets together with Derek Carr for one year, has what you consider to be the 10th best passing offense in the league (against really bad teams), and you believe Pete Carmichael was never a 'real OC' and Carr will be elite now that we have fixed the offensive line by hiring the passing game coordinator of a team that was much more successful than us at rushing? I hope Kubiak is an upgrade but honestly nobody knows. His 2022 Denver offense was worse than the Saints offense that year. He was an assistant in San Francisco. Carmichael was never a problem until Dennis Allen came in, and the wheels fell off when Dennis Allen brought in his hand picked QB, now Dennis Allen is bringing in his hand picked offensive assistant. Forgive me for not taking for granted Dennis Allen's great judgement of character. I think its honestly quite possible that Carmichael is a better OC than DA is a head coach or Derek Carr is a QB. Only one has a ring in such a role.

There need to be no excuses for DA and Carr this year. Carr can have the first quarter of week 1 to adjust to the new system and then he needs to earn his veteran money and produce. Rookie coaches and rookie QBs are out producing these guys. No more excuses!
