But our entire 2nd string offensive line is likely to see significant playing time, so if we get an active backup that helps too. Also historically our top offensive line draft picks have contributed sooner than our top defensive line draft picks, who have often contributed never. I hope we draft oline.

"Historically" covers what span? Two, three, five, ten, twenty, fifty? More? Just wondering the parameters. Thanks in advance!

“Historically” covers the span of time you spend conversing with or about people you set to IGNORE”.

If I wanted to be specific I would have been. Everyone knows what I mean. With the way we whiffed on Foskey, Turner, and Davenport I would not worry too much about the possibility that an oline pick may not contribute immediately. At least some of our first round oline picks have been able to hold down a starting job the first year. When is the last time we drafted a dline who did that?

No need to explain brother. Ramz started in all 16 games as a rookie & so did Erik McCoy. When I continue to say QUALITY DAY 1 starter, these are some of the players I'm referring to.

Some see what they want to see. But you're spot on with the defense ... WTFoskey, Davenport, Payton Turner were misses.

Saints MUST hit on their draft selections in 2024, especially those FIRST two.

I don't believe we have "whiffed" on Foskey or Turner. Turner has looked good when he has been out there. Foskey is still young and could still develop into something good.

I might be wrong here but don't first and second round draft picks usually have high expectations? Should our picks develop sooner? Uhmmm......Yeah!!!

+1.

Detroit 2023 draft picks - Jamar Gibbs, LaPorta, Brian Branch.

GB - Jayden Reed (see Saints game), Karl Brooks

Texans - CJ Stroud (ROTY), Will Anderson (DROY), Scruggs

Rams - Puka (5th rounder), Avila (started in all 17 games at guard)

^^ all rookies, all impact players coming out of camp.

I mention these teams because we took L's from every single one. You better start hitting on your draft picks, otherwise it's not going to be pretty.
