I miss the days of JoeSam, Hagen, FF and JP.

Those guys were knowledgeable and could have a conversation or debate on the team or a player or coach without turning the entire thread into nothing but trash talking and posturing.
You miss the days of JoeSam, Hagen, FF and JP.
I miss the days of Sean Payton and Drew Brees.

Those guys were exciting to watch, and could keep me on the edge of my seat, chuggin aspirin and smoking like a fiend every game. It was a wild roller coaster ride, that even on games we lost, were exciting and intense.

So you miss quality discussions about Saints Football.
I miss quality Football from the Saints.

It’s ok. Life goes on…

Sure life goes on with you taking out your frustrations on this entire forum.

That team no longer exists. Go find your fix elsewhere.

I apologize to you and everyone else (except for Sinner of course) for having to take the posturing stand here. I don't want to do this. But I just cannot stand to have this go on for another season. I agree with you that this incessant trash talking of the current team in any thread that attempts to talk about the current team barely makes it worth coming here.

I'm trying to put a stop to it. I figure that either I will be banned, or Sinner will. In either case there will be a merciful end to this.

I was here with those guys. I miss them now that they are gone. There are still people here worth talking Saints football with. I want to get back to that this season without flyby trash dumps in every thread. I've put up with this for 2 complete seasons hoping that it would stop. But when the Saints decided to retain Allen for a 3rd year, I knew that the trash machine would crank up as the season drew closer. This is the thread that broke the camel's back for me. It's literally titled "Reasons to be Positive" and it immediately got dumped on.

It is impossible to have any discussion about the 2024 Saints here anymore. So, I'm going to challenge every post until it stops.

I repeat that it's fine to put me on ignore.

I apologize again for this. I wish it did not need to be done. But someone has to finally take out the trash.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

I miss the days when the Saint was a team, other organizations feared to face. Now this Saints team is a minor blip on the opponent's schedule.

Yet another definition of the problem. How do you fix it. It just cannot be "Well the Saints need to become a team to be feared again." It's not magic.

I don't think you guys get the fact that Drew Brees is literally one of the best and most accurate QBs is the 100+ year history of the NFL. It's like you think you can just go into the HOF QB orchard and just pick another one. While clearly they do come along every once in a while, both knowing they will grow into that, and having the opportunity to get that pick are slim to none.

Knowing what we know now, the Saints should have done everything in their power to pick Mahommes in 2017. I still don't know how KC knew to do it. I believe they jumped up 16 spots IIRC.

But it's 2024. What is done is done. Stop reminiscing about an age gone by and work towards a future that is better than now.

How can this team get better? If firing Allen is the only solution, then who do you replace him with. If Carr cannot work, then who will.

STOP COMPLAINING AND FIX IT!

I think Derek Carr processes slow. For me, it’s easy to read his eyes. Concerns surrounding him are legit, yet overblown at the same time. He’s no worse than average. Our major concern is offensive line. That’s it. That’s the cause for caution.

$150 mil… I still can’t process that. I would have liked to see Jameis with an offensive line.

Yup. Average places him above half the starting QB's in the league. The chances are very slim to find anyone better. Six QB's were drafted in the first round of this year's draft. history tells us that four of those will probably never be a regular starter in the league. One may become another Carr or Kirk Cousins type. One might turn out to be a top 10 type QB in the league. The question is which one would that be?

As for our offensive line, from everything I've read the offensive philosophy being introduced by Kubiak is supposed to be far more o-line friendly. I'm hoping that is true.

With the contract that our (dis) organization gave Carr, chances of finding anyone better are not slim… they are none.

Haener or Rattler could very well be better in the near future.
