As to the forseeable future, it depends on your definition of forseeable. It costs nothing to join the season ticket wait list and you lose nothing if your name comes up and you decline. A large number of both season ticket holders and wait list members are probably out of town scalpers. Scalpers are only interested in making money and wont want to pay for tickets if they will take a loss on a doormat team nobody excited to watch. If fan sentiment goes negative enough it could easily be forseeable to me that 25,000 scalpers and 10,000 fans could drop their tickets, all 300,000 or whatever scalpers on the wait list could say no thanks, and even if 200,000 fans are on the wait list, it could be hard to get 35,000 of them to buy low and pay and thousands for season tickets to see Trevor Penning repeatedly audition for a lead role in Romeo and Juliet with his convincing on field rendition of the penultimate scenes. |
