this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; When given the choice, I always want my team to win. I get the consequences of the team having a bad season, (new coach, better draft pick, etc.) but I can't root for them to fail. It's not in me....

The minute you start wanting your (supposed) team to lose you have ceased being a fan. You may still think you are a fan, but you are lying to yourself. Actively hoping your (supposed) team loses any individual game is contrary to fandom. It even gets worse if you want your (supposed) team to lose to somehow "prove you are right." To actively celebrate the team's loss is the lowest attitude and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt you truly do not care about your (supposed) team.
