I wanted Jalon Walker or a trade back. I would've been OK with Sanders. I don't really like this pick. I know the O line needs work, but I don't think Banks was worth #9. Had Will Campbell fallen, yeah absolutely take him. This just feels...hollow.

Oh well, I'm on to tomorrow and waiting to see how they f*** those picks up

The most important thing for the rest of this round is that the Saints don't trade back into the first round at the cost of their 2026 1st round pick. We could end up giving up Arch Manning and more for Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, or Tyler Shough.

I disagree. Banks was considered the top OL until the last few weeks. Sometimes analysis paralysis takes over and people just need **** to write about. He's a stud, and paired with Fuaga, we have two anchors. Only issue is we need help in the interior as well. Might be easier to find a guard in free agency than a tackle

No no no! It would likely cost our 2026 1st round pick. Costing the Saints the opportunity to draft Arch Manning in return for a reach pick who isn't ready to play would be the most Loomis thing ever. If Loomis blow the Saints opportunity to draft Arch for a reach, we need to build a statue outside the dome depicting Loomis as a junkie male prostitute flashing his goodies to attract johns.

I don't think the Saints will have the #1 overall pick next year, so they would have to trade up to get Arch. You can't count on it. Someone might want him more and then you are settling next year.

Maybe the Falcons will take Tyler Warren. They need help at TE and having a 1st round grade at TE he is a sure thing.

Don't care about Arch Manning. He shouldn't come out until 2027 anyway. How do we get Carr and his cap hit out of town is more pressing, no matter who plays QB for us this year

Same. We are so slow upfront on defense. I didn’t think he was going to be there at 9. I’m tired of QBs having all day to decide what they want to do with the ball.

I think the Saints definitely may have the top pick. Drafting Dart or Sanders won't help, especially Dart, who is not ready as a rookie to be a standout. Carr was mediocre but without Carr we are in Titans QB territory. Then you have an injury prone offense and an aging defense.

If we could get Sanders or Dart at 40 I could be ok with it.

I would also be ok with trading out of the 2nd round and picking up more 3rd and 4th rounders or 2026 picks.

In 2024, he was named First Team All-SEC and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy and the Lombardi Award, as the best lineman in college football that year. Banks was also awarded the Outland Trophy, which is awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.


No issue with this pick at all, especially if it means i don't need to see Trevor Penning again. I'll be just as happy if they take a LG in the 2/3rd round

I use Arch Mannings name symbolically. Maybe another QB emerges as the clear top option in 2026. It looks to be a very good QB draft. Maybe Nussmeier or another QB looks great. I just don't want to pass up on having our pick from a great QB class next year for a reach this year that many other teams passed up for a reason.

I think we all know it's just the family legacy and they think he's a savior for the Saints. Honestly, if he went to New Orleans, it would probably be the worst thing for him and the franchise. Expectations would be too high!

Who would just wind up hurt or rattled for the rest of their career. OT is a safe and smart move. We are in rebuild mode now. Solidify our line before we invest heavily in Qb. If Rattler or hand me a Hanky make it great, if not that’s ok too.

Arch Manning has not proven much in college yet but he broke two Super Bowl winning QBs records at his high school, was the #1 overall recruit in the country in 2023, stands 6ft 4in call with prototypically QB size, has looked good in his college tape, comes from a family that has produced 3 great QBs, is more mobile than Peyton and Eli, and is still only 19 years old, the same age 6'1 Shedeur Sanders whose family has produced one star at a totally different position was his freshman year at Jackson State. Its not that Arch Manning is white. Its that everything is great about him except that sorry he didn't start at Texas at 19 and didn't look better than the 21 year old starter 3 year starter yet when he got on the field. Ewers was the #1 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class. Sorry that Manning is only a #1 overall recruit who at 19 could only play comperably not better than a #1 overall recruit from 2021 in his third year in the system. Its like if Tom Brady was so great, why didn't he bypass Drew Henson.

All those things are great, but a player has to prove it at every level. Let's let him get a full season of college before we anoint him.

Yes but lets not toss our lottery ticket in the trash for Jaxson Dart or Shedeur Sanders who did not accomplish what Manning did at previous levels and have not accomplished what Manning still could at the college level. I am fine if we take Dart or Sanders, but not by trading a future 1st round pick.

I guess 4,000+ yards, 37 TDs, and a 74% completion percentage is less of a sure thing than the kid we haven't seen because he played well in high school. Either that or he's just the nepo baby from the wrong family.
