He's definitely a run defender. I've been negative enough so I wasn't going to continue to pile on. Seems like they're focused on run defense. He's got good speed for the position though. All of this is a crapshoot but people might want to grab some Rouses bags.

If we're going to add a RB the time is now in late 4th; they're flying off the board.

In terms of the player, Louisville fans are saying how much they liked him and how reliable a passer he is. So let's give Kellen a chance.

This is the highest we've drafted a QB in forever, so they obviously see something worthwhile. They've drafted him to start, so let's support him.

If he's rubbish, then we'll be drafting again, it's that simple. Let's just let Kellen build what he's trying to build first. This isn't an overnight fix, the team has too many holes, but the dude deserves some time.

I agree with the showing Carr the door part. I also agree with the Saints having many needs which is why I wish they would have gone BPA with the 2nd rd pick. I believe that Tyler would have been there later in the draft and we could have improved in so many areas.

We could have rode with Rattler another year since this is a start of a rebuild.

I hate to beat a dead horse but it's difficult for me to sit back and watch what's happening. I watched every Jackson State game they showed on TV. I watched most of the Colorado games he played in. The kid is accurate short, intermediate, and deep. He protects the football. He stands in the pocket and delivers with pressure in his face. He has an elite understanding of coverages pre and post snap. He runs when he has to. He can deliver the ball rolling left or right. His arm strength or lack thereof is overblown. He has all the traits of a classic QB. This fall has nothing to do with what is on the film. It's all about character issues that have never shown up at any level of the game. He and his family are taking this extremely well. Laughing. Smiling. Joking. Giving glory to God. We watched Johnny Manziel go #1. Zak Wilson and Trey Lance were 1st rounders. Mitch Trubisky. Names fly up draft boards out the blue for whatever reason the media makes up. This fall is disrespectful and orchestrated.

It's very likely Tyler would've been gone in the 3rd round. With the Carr situation, I don't think the Saints really had a choice. To me it means they are not sure on the Bayou Rattler. Draft grades were obviously wrong on Shedeur, despite what's left of Mel Kiper's hair is telling you. Even SP won't draft the guy. Nor Jerruh in Dallas... so far at least.

There's way too many holes to fill this year to fill our roster to be a SB contenter. Let's see what happens with Kellen Moore's pics.

We're done for now until the last two rounds.

Watson was a reasonable gamble.

4,823 yards
33 TD's
7 INT's
444 rushing yards
3 TD's

His stat line before he got moved to Cleveland. He caught that injury bug. He would have been a much better fit down here.

What are you even talking about? Three years in Cleveland and the guy averages six games a year. You'd go from bad to absolutely worse just on the field alone, not even factoring in Watson's highly questionable character.

Watson is the only other quarterback in the league that actually stole more money from his team than Derek Carr.

Exactly what I said. I like him over Carr. Especially in the system Kellen Moore is likely about to implement. We like QB's who miss two and three seasons with injuries. Just drafted one.

What is he likely to implement? We don't even know yet, except that he adapts to personnel on the team, at least that's the press clippings.

Tyler had two injuries, one which should have been surgically repaired initially but for whatever reason wasn't, the clavicle injury. The other from a tackle that's now banned in both college and NFL. He was good last year and played a better schedule arguably than Colorado's. The game against the number one pick was a great game and down to the wire. The Clemson game was another. His touch on long passes looks real good. And he possesses a super quick release. And we learned he can read and process quickly, and has great pocket presence as we saw on a quick dart for a TD up the middle. I like him better than Dart since he doesn't cry like a school girl on the sidelines like Dart did this year. There is something to be said in overcoming adversity as he has so far. Coach Brohm is some sort of QB whisperer as it turns out.

I expect a motion and RPO heavy scheme that relies on quick passes and fast decision making. As far as Shough, he was okay last year. 23 TD's and 6 picks is alright. 62% completion percentage in college is...meh. Career 63% passer leaves much to be desired. I understand that the natural instinct of a fan is to view the selection with rose colored glasses and hope for the best. He's big. He's fast. He has a strong arm. He's ran a lot of systems. He's had a lot of responsibilities. Those are his positives. The ACC improved last year seeing how they've been just Clemson for years now. He didn't do much with the time he had in Texas Tech or Oregon. We already have a #1 high school prospect coming out of Arizona with tremendous arm talent...and he's younger. 6'5" always catches attention though.

Zone read. RPO slant. RPO bubble. RPO SLUGO. RPO wheel. Play action rollout flood concept into the flat and intermediate. Get defenses moving forward. Go over the top with Shaheed, Olave, and Cook. Really try to establish the run. The new age West Coast offense.

Saints Draft Fadil Diggs, Edge Rusher, Syracuse with last pick.

Looking at his highlights, his size is somewhat reminiscent of Carl Granderson.

Maybe he takes Isaiah Foskey's spot in the rotation, because Foskey hasn't done anything.

Re: DRAFT 2025 LIVE THREAD

In the NFL, there’s one thing you have to be able to do: hit receivers in stride in the 10–15 yard window. If you can’t do that, you don't have a career. I never saw Sanders do this. His game is either chucking the ball up for a chunk play or dumping it off short — not threading the ball into tight windows with timing and anticipation.

I'm actually really high on the guy we drafted, Shough. I'm incredibly surprised we picked him — we probably could’ve gotten him later — but I think he’s going to end up being our franchise QB.

I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Carr have a great year. I know a lot of people here don't trust him because of what’s happened in the past, but I genuinely believe Carr can thrive if he's put in the right situation.

I think that was a done deal since he got hurt last fall. He's never returned to New Orleans since, and probably never had any intention to ever return.

I feel like Foskey would benefit from being a stand up EDGE rusher in a 3-4. We'll see though.
