Don't forget Payton didn't want to live in New Orleans after seeing what Katrina had left him. He wanted to stay in "BIG D" and commute. I read somewhere the SP wanted to come back after he ended his retirement and the FO said no and it pissed him off. Idk if that’s true or not. But I definitely read it somewhere.
