Bottom line....Brooks needs a fresh start and the Saints need a CLEAN start for the new HC.
Anyone who thinks Brooks could take on a mentoring role is just not looking at this thing right. Paycut with the Saints? I seriously doubt it. There are starting jobs out there for AB and there is no reason for him to stay. I am tired of Brooks, but I am objective enough to know that he is still one of the top 32 QBs in the league, which means he should still seek a starting job. I mean watching some of the backups this year (Bouman included) at least showed me that Brooks is a starter somewhere. Teams like AZ, MIA, BAL, OAK, BUF......could possibly be interested. They can have him...but someone will pay him better than the paycut he would take here, IMHO. And to that I say HAUL A$$. Maybe McCarthy will grab him and they can continue their sexy little love affair. |

mccarthy brought brooks with him from greenbay...brooks actually performed well under the first years of mccarthy...maybe he will want to take brooks with him back to greenbay.

HUGE difference. |
