this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; ... on the NFL network's Total Access , it was reported that Coach Payton was "'enamoured" with Cutler - their word - so it may be very well that the Saints are aiming at Cutler instead of Leinart......

ESPN.com's Todd McShay said Clemson's Charlie Whitehurst threw better than anyone at the NFL Combine not named Cutler. Whitehurst, Brodie Croyle, and Omar Jacobs are all vying to be the fourth quarterback drafted. Feb. 27 - 1:42 pm et
Many teams have reportedly already taken Marcus Vick off their draft boards. Vick did quite well on the field this weekend, but he didn't impress in his press conference or interviews. ESPN.com says he came across as "arrogant" and "smug" in interviews. Feb. 27 - 1:44 pm et Maryland TE Vernon Davis ran a 4.38 forty at the NFL Scouting Combine. At 6'3 and 254 pounds, that is simply freakish speed. He also put up 225 pounds 33 times. Davis was already seen as a top ten pick and this should cement that status. His college production was excellent and the kid can block. Expect his fantasy hype to be through the roof. Feb. 27 - 11:47 am et Just some tid bits off rotoworld... thought it was intersting. Davis' numbers at the combine are SICK. |

Yup... that's why he could be a low risk high reward signing.

RE: Rumors are flying?
why waste picks on a position that is not a glaring need. qb and lb are glaring needs. o line and d line are needs, but not nearly as great as our need for a starting qb and a lb.

RE: Rumors are flying?
I can think of ten other teams off the top of my head, that I would rather have their defensive lines than Seattle.

RE: Rumors are flying?
OL and D periord are our glaring needs. Brooks is an above average QB. We are not above average on our lines which would improve the whole team as a whole, if you want to address QB fine but lets build from the lines and you can put most anyone in at key positions even a Pitts QB
