this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Deuce - They have stated MANY times that Drew Brees WILL be ready for Minicamp in May, which is exactly when EVERYONE else will be ready to get started....

RE: Leinart supporters......
Well Deuce, if there are so many questions about Brees's health, then why is there such a heated competition to sign him? NFL teams do have their own doctors. I seriously doubt that either the Saints' or Dolphins' medical staffs have not already evaluated his shoulder.

Guys, don't get me wrong, I think Brees would be a great addition. But spending several million dollars for a guy who just suffered an awful injury is a little bit scary. Do you agree?

I agree with the statement that Saban and Mueller may make a dumb decision apart every now and then but the two guys together on this, they know he's going to make a full recovery and oddly enough we know that too. So screw all the other teams that don't have the sense to bid on him. I can feel the excitement in the dome already. Hawk and Brees and if we can sign Arrington or Spoon, a good DT and CB we are set dudes, we are set.

Don't count your chickens just yet, Cheramie. Assuming the Saints do sign Brees and trade down in the draft, there is a high possibility that Ferguson is still there. If that is the case, I'd look for him to be drafted and Gandy cut. I think someone posted earlier how it would be great to have two bookend tackles. Could you imagine D'Brick and Jamaal Brown protecting Drew Brees? Helping open holes for Deuce? I'm not saying that I'd take D'Brick over Hawk, but that is always a possibility.

RE: Leinart supporters......
if we can get brees and i would assume from what we are going to pay the guy he will be our guy. if that is so and we aren't drafting a qb we can trae down get some real good players sign a couple of free agents then i am going to like this season i think. is anyone else liking what we are doing so far. grant it we do need to make these things happen and not just talk about them
