RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Leinart supporters......
I want Leinart too and I can see where most Leinart supporters are coming from. Let's stop the infatuation and look at winning this year though.
I just think it makes more football sense to sign Brees. Media coverage will always speculate and play devils advocate. Their job is to get people to read and watch and obviously it works. However if Mueller wants to sign the guy that bad, I'd be willing to trust his judgement that he'll be good next year. We could get him, and trade down or pick Hawk or Ferguson. I think this makes us a much better team than just getting Leinart alone, who like any rookie QB, has a ways to go to get to Brees's level of understanding the game. You guys wait and see. Next draft Brady Quinn will be even more hyped than Leinart. Passing up on Leinart isn't the worst thing the Saints could do. There's always another franchise QB waiting in the wings. |

Very good point Gold.....Our team would be improved with either guy but I'm starting to think that Brees makes more sense when you consider the other talent in this years draft...
And this coming from the bigest SC homer on this board. |

Mighty, can you show a link stating the Jets are looking to trade up please. You seem so sure about it that I would just like to see it. The Jets are interested in signing Ramsey and have way too many holes to trade up. Brees is definately an upgrade at qb but I want to see Leinart in black and gold.

Haha, and NOW you're skeptical? Because of a minor surgery which he has fully recovered from and played through an entire season with? "Which brings me to my next point, don't smoke crack." |

RE: Leinart supporters......
Is all of this really necessary???
Leinart is a good prospect. Brees is a good NFL QB. I think the team is approaching the future properly by making Brees our primary target. No one knows how they are going to approach the draft, because they almost always surprise us. Regardless of what they do in the draft, going after Brees is a good idea. I think we can all agree that we are not at the point of rebuilding, and we can't afford the luxury of pinning the franchise's hopes this year on a rookie QB. If all of the pieces are in place, this team can make a run at the playoffs. If Hurricane Katrina had not happened, maybe the team can afford to wait for Leinart to develop. This is probably the most important upcoming season in the history of the Saints franchise, and that shouldn't be underestimated. Maybe the team is planning to still draft Leinart. Maybe not. In either case, Brees makes sense. |

RE: Leinart supporters......
This is for both the Deuce and Livina I can't find the article but I do remember seeing on NFL Network that they had a talk about the Jets trading for Leinart, but that was before Pennington restructured his contract, so I will concede that one. As for the deuce I also don't see any articles on Leinarts knee, but I can't find any on his elbow either so I concede that one. Good job guys.
