Leinart supporters......

What I have been saying all along is going to happen, the Saints are going to sign 1 or 2 veteran QB's and trade down in the draft. I was wrong about who those QB's would be, but none the less on the right track.

If we sign Brees and then McNown, Kitna, Ferotte, or Ramsay as backup, cut Brooks and Bouman, we will trade down in the draft with the Jets and pick up, guess who:

THE HAWK!!!!!!!!!

and that means we won't draft Leinart. Sorry, but the news is coming soon.

I just don't think that Brees is worth the kind of money that he's going to be getting in free agency. Just my opinion. But I guess I'd be happy with an improved defense, but I just don't think I'd be able to stand seeing us pass on our franchise QB.

Its classic, wanting to eat the cookie and still have it left. If we draft Leinart and don't tak care about the defence we'll still be stuck i mediocracy. And the other way around. I woul like to see both Hawk and Leinart in black and gold but thats not likly to happen.

I don't see Brees as a "throwaways", I think it's about the money for the Chargers, a lot of teams would love to have Brees on their team, I know I would.
We know what Brees can and cannot do, drafting a QB is quite opposite, your taking a chance and hoping he comes around, don't get me wrong, if Brees isn't in the picture I'd draft a QB because we all know we need one.

Brees, who was the first player picked in the second round in the 2001 draft, tore the labrum and damaged the rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder while trying to recover a fumble San Diego’s season finale. He had surgery Jan. 5.

Dr. James Andrews, who performed the surgery, said he expects Brees to make a full recovery, though it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to play.
I don't see why we would overspend money that could be used to sign players like Witherspoon or numerous other players when we can draft a guy who is so highly rated coming out of college. And they say "he should make a full recovery," but they don't know when he'll be ready to play. What if he's not ready until the middle of the season? What if he re-injures the shoulder? I just think we don't need to OVERSPEND, like we usually do, on a guy who is coming off a serious injury.
