Proponents of higher-order theories of consciousness argue that consciousness is explained by the relation between two levels of mental states in which a higher-order mental state takes another mental state. If you mention this to Chuck Norris, expect an explosive roundhouse kick to the face for spouting too much fancy-talk.

If we had 4 picks in the first round (or even 3) and Cutler was there at 29 or 31 I would definately take him as an insurance policy for Brees incase his shoulder isn't fully healed. Also, at 29 or 31 he would come relatively cheap.

I will say, the talk about trading our first rounder next year for denvers 2 first rounders sounds good but I don't think it's true. I'm with Wheelman, how do they know the team is going to finish poorly? The rumor doen't make sense to me and I'm going to say it probably isn't true.

IMO the jets want the first rounder for their own use. Falcons #15 for the 4 to 2 move would put us owing them 250pts, a third rounder which we don't have. Like it or not teams use these values pretty strictly. More likely, the Jets have two first rounders and can let go of their #2 more easily then. The 4 to 2 move equates to giving us the second and third round pick or even more probable, IMO, this and next years second rounder.

I do not think Atlanta will part with a 1 for john. There second sounds better. They would have to move cap money around with their recent signings. Unless they ship a player or two as part of the deal. From what I have read the jets are realistic and think John will bring a second. so that would be swapping 1's and given up 2 seconds and a low pick next year.
Now the Sea hawks straight up at 31 for john hmm, but they would really have to want him. They need TE and WR help so #2 (63) and #4 next year makes more sense. then ship it to us. So we are back to the same deal swap #1, 2-#2 and a late pick next year. that would give us 1 #1, 3-#2, and 1 in #4. Plus the leftovers for next year. Done deal. I am wondering if Matt Schaub and a third would land John in Atl. Then the jets package them and #4 and #36 to us for #2. That would be a nice safety net if Brees get hammered. I think Atl. will hang on to him though. |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: on kffl this morning, the jets
I looked at the Nfl draft value chart and the Broncos 22nd pick is worth 780 points and their 29th pick is worth 640 points. That's 1420 total points. The 7th pick is worth 1500 points, the 8th is worth 1400 points. So if we think we'll do better than bottom 7 in the league (which I think we will, our schedule is rated the toughest in the nfl based on last year's standings, but I think we can do it) then we would be getting good value for it.

am little trouble following the math but i have one strong feeling-
the falcons do not wanna let go of schaub. i am in the camp that believes the aura of vick may start to dim significantly. he is a freak and something to behold. i still haven't seen him as a solid winning nfl quarteback though. to me, a glorified cordell stewart. he is so marquee that atlanta cannot let him go. but after some more injuries and inconsistencies occur mora might have a plan. rape someone herchel walker style for ron mexico and have your man in place ready to assume the leading role. |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: on kffl this morning, the jets
I don't think the Jets would do Abraham straight up for mid-second rounder. I think Atlanta would have to give up someone like Duckett as well (The Jets need help in the RB position with Martin gettin up there in age). I think then we could maybe get the jets 1st (#4), 2nd(#36), and 3rd (#68 ) round picks. They would get Leinart and still have a 2nd round pick from Atl. Those 3 picks equal 2590 points and our 2nd pick is worth 2600. Pretty equal value. This would still get us Brick (or Hawk), Mangold, and a solid LB (or OL help if we went with Hawk)
