RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

i guess i just value Carr more than others

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

I love David Carr... behind a good offensive line. He's going to be in the same situation as he was in Houston. I have no doubt in my mind he would put up monster numbers behind a line like Cincy, KC, San Diego, etc.

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

With the first pick in the 2007 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders select Joe Thomas... tackle from the University of Wisconsin. Next on the clock are the Detroit Lions.

Ladies and gentlemen... we have a trade to announce. The Detroit Lions have traded their 2nd overall pick to the Houston Texans for the number 8 pick and quarterback David Carr. Houston you are now on the clock.

With the 2nd pick in the NFL draft, the Houston Texans select JaMarcus Russell... quarterback from LSU. Cleveland Browns, you are now on the clock.

I was going to add some commentating and interviews... but then it would be to long.

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

Al Davis, owner of the Oakland Raiders, discusses his pick with Mel Kiper Jr. and Bunch.
"Well, way we see it we need just about everything. But we decided (we I mean me) that Joe Thomas was too good to pass up. Sure, we woulda liked to have traded down, but hey, it happens sometimes. Thomas will be the LT and Gallery will be the RT, where we believe he needs to be since the beginning. We applaud Robert for being a sport to play LT, but he knows he needs to move. We wll be trying to move back in the second round if anyone is interested"

Browns Take Calvin Johnson WR GT
The Browns have other needs, especially on defense. Johnson has a size/speed combination never before seen. Plus Johnson has great hands. Johnson would start immediately and give Charlie frye or FA a huge target.

Sorry been at work.

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

best player in the draft. it would give frye another great target to stare at before he throws an interception. and eventually it would give some QB 3 terrific receivers.

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

I understand that we are all busy with work and other stuff, but shouldn't we have a time limit of some sorts

papz 02-09-2007 09:54 AM

RE: Re: B&G Mock Draft 1

Hmm... lets give it a couple of hours and see how it goes. Anyone who want to participate interested in making this pick if bulldog doesn't show up?

bulldog1865 02-09-2007 10:51 AM

sorry to hold yall up... tampa bay selects alan branch, DE, michigan

hagan714 02-09-2007 11:23 AM

why?

tapout 02-09-2007 11:23 AM

branch is actually considered the best DT in the draft, making this a curious pick over a DE like Jamaal Anderson or Gaines Adams. but, i guess they could use some youth at any position on defense.

zachsaints52 02-09-2007 11:28 AM

Crazy draft so far huh?

papz 02-09-2007 01:06 PM

Unlike any other mocks... it's the B&G mock!!! 8)

Well they did lose Booger McFarland and are very thin at DT... so I could definately see them taking him. They definately need a run stuffer especially with the backs in our division. Good pick.

So far...

1. Oakland Raiders - Joe Thomas, OT Wisconsin
2. Houston Texans - JaMarcus Russell, QB LSU
3. Cleveland Browns - Calvin Johnson, WR Georgia Tech
4. Tampa Bay Bucs - Alan Branch, DT Michigan

Now on the clock with the 5th pick of the NFL draft... the Arizona Cardinals.

bulldog1865 02-09-2007 01:27 PM

well tampa really needs help on d... If thomas or calvin johnson were available they would have been the logical picks. but yeah tampa is hurting on defense and branch is a versatile lineman that would have and impact immediately. so he was the only logical choice since i don't think they need to take a quarterback since they have simms, gradkowski, and rattay. a safety would be nice, but it's a little too high for landry.

saintsfan1313 02-09-2007 01:59 PM

I like the pic......Tampa needs D, and with no Big playmakers around warranting a pick here, they gotta go D, no offensive player is worth a 4 here, except maybe Peterson, but they have RB, so they gotta grab a Defensive playmaker...and this guy is a beast

hagan714 02-09-2007 02:11 PM

agreed....Quinn would have been nice but they signed simms

papz 02-09-2007 02:16 PM

I would not be surprised if Quinn took a Leinart/Rodgers fall.

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 04:17 PM

NO! Next question.

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 04:24 PM

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 05:17 PM

I am shopping the 6th pick in the draft. I am looking for a killer DE, DT or WR and your 1st round pick?

Let's get some action going

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 05:36 PM

hagan714 02-09-2007 07:14 PM

duce logged out ????

saintsfan1313 02-09-2007 07:17 PM

tic toc....

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 07:22 PM

Always remember someday you will want something from the person(s) that you neglected. I am going to take about 2 or 3 days to make my pick, but seriously I think we need to set a time limit right now? 1 to 2 hours should be sufficient and if no pick that persons/teams pick keeps moving back until they show up. Sounds good to me, come one lets do it now!

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 07:28 PM

Come on guys don't be lame, I really wanted to say something else but lame won't get me in trouble.

hagan714 02-09-2007 07:30 PM

We can offer a team from the GM's who have more than one team. 2 hrs maybe a bit short but 24 hrs is too long. :computer2:

CheramieIII 02-09-2007 07:36 PM

I'm going out to eat now. See you guys tomorrow sometime.
