Becuase I like Andrew Walter, and I think he can actually play. I would put Gallery at RT, Thomas at LT. Plus, I love a team with a strong O-line and D-line...Not to mention they will probably pick up Marques contract and bring in someone in the later rounds. Walters college career was a really good one, shattering records held by Hall Of Famers.

hey papz thats no ripple it is a tidal wave. well then again so was Bush last year.
I do want this to realistic also. I do not find that pick so bad since he is the #2 pick of the draft in most mocks I have read to detriot. screws up fhs623 a bit. Pick the QB they say they do not need. god help them if they go WR as we know. so trade is open.

i think the lions should take quinn, but AP and CJ (i know) might be too hard to pass up.
there are much worse starting QBs in the league than kitna.

2 and 3 will be very interesting seeing how Quinn is Harrington and Frye-like... those three are very similiar quarterbacks. Detroit got rid of Harrington while Frye is still there in Cleveland. Three interesting questions...

1. Will Detroit opt for Quinn, Russell, or surprise everyone and select Adrian Peterson?
2. Will Cleveland trade up and select Russell making Detroit's decision much easier?
3. Will Detroit snag another receiver?

Anything can happen with Millen.

One more thing on the Raiders' pick of Thomas... that took some nuts because Gallery is a flop there in Oakland. He's never lived up to his hype and to select another OT that high... bravo.

Houston (saintsfan1313) has traded the #8 pick and David Carr to Detroit for the #2 pick

And with the #2 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, Houston selects......

Jamarcus Russell, QB out of LSU


Houston gives up on Carr, and after Oakland passes on Russell, they have to pull the trigger. Texans fans will be calling for some heads if they dont do something big, so here it is.....

Also, Houston was shopping Carr for a 3rd or 4th, which is a value in the 200's and 300's, so they get the QB they want, dump Carr, and it was good value as far picks are concerned....so i liked it....whats everyone's take on it.....

Wow... there's been speculation Carr could be had for a 3rd rounder maybe. So this really doesn't make that much sense. Detroit also made a huge commitment to Kitna and Carr make 7 or 8 million per season. They would also have to extend his contract because he only has another year left on it while Kitna has I think 4 more. Texans get Russell and then what? They're still left with the same problem... no lineman to protect their quarterback.

But hey... this draft is going to be hellla interesting.

Detroit should just trade their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th to get Carr straight up while keeping the #2 pick in the draft. Detroit should get more value for that pick imo. One year of Carr for switching the 2nd and 8th pick does not make sense.

lions top need is o-line help.kitna was sacked 63 times last year. I couldnt take thomas cuz he was gone. cant take CJ cuz they're set at wrs. rb is a possibility, but #2 too high for Peterson, who is injury by the way. There is no defensive guy valued at #2. The Qbs this year don't really excite me (I think Brian Brohm would've been taken ahead of both Quinn and Russell).Finally, I based my trade on the assumption that Carr re-negotiates his contract.

agreed but this is the lions. I could see a conditional second round pick for 08 in the deal if they sign him and if not it goes to a #1. Include swapping 3rd this year and maybe it works. now the salary bit makes it very strange. i have to say this is highway robery.

Don't get me wrong fsh, trading down makes sense because the team has many holes. But I just don't think you got enough value... you think Carr will take THAT big of a pay cut with an extension? He certainly isn't worth the money he's been making. He could easily become a cap casullty if the Texans aren't able to trade him.

hehe, he approached me about it, so dont make me the robber.....Russell is a lil more mobile than Carr, so maybe he dodge bullets a lil better.....Texans can get some O-line help in the 2nd and should thru FA as well.......I like the pick for the Texans, not the Lions...but i wasnt pickin for the Lions, so I can be ruthless.......:)
