Nah keep it the way it is... Anderson is the BPA at 12 and would have been very tough to pass up. There are holes everywhere on the Bills 28th ranked rush defense and while Kelsay is a solid player, Anderson is is a gamebreaker on defense.

St. Louis Rams Select, Patrick Willis, LB, Ole Miss
You knew what Haslet would do! He's done it several times with the Saints, but unlike other draft picks at linebacker in the recent past, he gets a winner this time. This guy is fast and doesn't miss many tackles. At 6'2", 235lbs. He could even put on a few more pounds and still not lose any speed. Great vision sideline to sideline. This guy will be a great linebacker in the NFL for years to come. |
Sorry it took so long guys, mad day at work and I couldn't even breathe.
|
Just imagine had Willis fell to the Steelers at 15... SICK!!!
|
Damn you Cher... I think we should have collectively made an agreement as a group to let Willis fall to the Saints...
|
No way D! He would never fall that far and if Payton is watching this draft he would be very upset at our lack of organization and that is no way reflects on Hagan running this draft, it reflects on all of us and that includes my dumas.
|
But I will think about trading down if the Saints want to give up Simoneau, Fincher and their #2 and 1 of their #3 picks.
|
godfather is fitting. lol
Haz will fatten him up and screw him all up. |
I have convulsions every now and again but I don't know about the fitting thing.
|
Lawrence Timmons OLB Florida St.
Carolina lost Morgan to injuries, lost Witherspoon as a FA last year, and all but one Lbs are FA. |
Surpise pick? Maybe not!
|
interesting to say the least.
|
I was in a hurry last night so I didn't have time to write my complete explanation. As I stated above, Panthers' linebacking corp only has one guy under contract (thomas davis), and he's a converted safety.I was considering Bowe, but Keyshawn Johnson isn't 100% sure he's going to retire and this year's WR class is pretty deep, which a guy like Buster Davis or a Anthony Gonzalez can be picked up in the 2nd rd....Timmons may be a bit raw, but the Panthers have the coaches to turn Timmons into a star.

TIC........TOCK.......TIC.........TOCK.................... :?

RE: Mock......
Come on Pittsburgh! I'm ready to pick. : )
|
RE: Mock......
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jamaal Anderson, DE, 6 - 6, 280, 4.80 Arkansas
One position where many problems have arised from is the DE spot. Thye lost Kimo vonOelhoffen last year during FA and haven't had a steady replacement since. He would be perfect in a defense that may now show both 3-4 and 4-3 looks to offenses he has the size to add some bulk and strength to be a 5-tech DE. With a good amount of effort in an NFL weight room, I wouldn't be surprised to see him excel at the 3-tech in a 4-3 alignment too. Playing the 4-3 end as a senior, he showed a real nose for the big play, racking up nearly 20 tackles behind the LOS, including 13.5 sacks. He gets off the snap quickly and has the speed to get past the blocker before he has a chance to set up. He's able to get to the QB by flashing inside the OT, or by dipping a shoulder and rushing wide. Anderson has a high ceiling as he continues to learn how to play the position and grow into his frame |
RE: Mock......
16. Green Bay Pacers - Leon Hall, CB, 5'11", 193 lbs, 4.50, Michigan
The Packers have two guys over 30 starting at cornerback, and one of them isn’t happy with his contract. Not to mention, finishing near the bottom of the league, in pass defense. This would be a great start, to building a play off ready defense, considering, for the most part, the defensive side of the ball has been what's keeping them out of it. Hall is physical enough to play with the big receivers, yet quick and able enough to cover the quick receivers. Excels in zone coverage, and is very good at man-to-man. He's a smart and very fluid athlete without a major hole in his game. Hall can come up and support the run well and is an excellent blizter. Being paired up with Walt Harris, should make the Packers, a more formidable defensive secondary. |
RE: Mock......
I apologize.... Al Harris, not Walt Harris....
|
RE: Mock......
wow I had you pegged for a RB.
|
RE: Mock......
That idea did cross my mind, but having Hall on the board, was too good to pass up. That defense is in desperate need in almost every position.

Round 1

RE: Mock......
Hagan I know Anderson is good, but he just CAN NOT play for two teams.
|
RE: Mock......
lol no way damn. well my second choice is not taken so one minute.
|
RE: Mock......
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Darrelle Revis, 6 - 0, 200, 4.40 Pittsburgh
Has the ability to develop into an elite shutdown corner at the next level.Displays great instincts. Hits like a safety. Is equally comfortable in any defensive style. Can bump and run, or man up with the best in college football. Great natural athlete with very good speed. Ideal size for the position. Has deadly potential as a return man. Explosive, smooth. Good backpedal. Solid footwork. Plays nasty with an aggressive streak. Very competitive. Loves to hit. Models himself after Ty Law and Champ Bailey. Hometown kid Hagan714 for D24 |

RE: Mock......
Wow, Revis before Hall? That's a shocker. I haven't said anything about this yet, but would anybody be very upset to see Landry in Atlanta? I would.
|
RE: Mock......
Revis is a better one on one prospect than Hall. Hall will be great in a cover 2 system. IMO.
Landry to Atalnta suxs for sure. I will spend the games worring about WR and TE going on IR. Not so much worried about Int's. I know he will get his share but with him it is hitting more than anything. |
My pick at 17----Jags pick AMOBI OKOYE-- DT Lurv.
The kid is just 19...the Jags needs a quick DT....I believe this kid will develope into a great player one day. He started playing NACC foolball at the age of 16. He is aggressive and a large body.He has alot to learn, but from what I have read, he is a quick learner. |
SaintJams Pm me his picks but I will give him time do to the players left
|
18 Cincinnati Bengals - DeMarcus Tyler, DT, 6 - 2, 323, 5.10, NC State
You could probably pick any defensive position here and upgrade the defense, so we will start up front. Tyler should have no problem taking over Thornton's position on the defensive line The pick does make sense |
Good pick for the Steelers hagan. Had I picked for D24, Revis was also going to be my pick. They're unsteady at corner so it was a logical pick to go with the guy with more upside... and the local boy. Hall will be a solid 2 corner in the league for years while Revis has a chance, though I doubt he fulfills he potential, to be a 1.
Jacksonville now has Stroud, Henderson, and Okoye. That's just unfair. By the time Stroud/Henderson are 31/32, Okoye will be coming into his prime. |
when the selection will be made ? and how long you have before you pick .. I will select for SD and chicago.
|
It's going to be a while for you faldhamen... you'll probably me making those picks on Sunday or Monday.
|
Quote:
8) I would love to see the Saints resign Grant and then get Okoye. I'm telling you this kid could be the sleeper of all the DT in the draft this year. |
Well he certainly has the most upside being 19 and all. It's kind of hard calling the guy a sleeper though... he is the number 2 rated DT in the draft.
|
time to get vince a weapon...
19 Tennessee Titans select Dwayne Bowe Sr. WR LSU I'm sure most of you have seen a fair share of him already. His stock has been on the rise after a good senior year and an impressive senior bowl week. They also look at Rice and Meachem, but are more than happy to have Bowe here at 19. Dwayne gives Vince a WR that should be able to contribute right away. This was an offense on the rise last year with the emergence of VY despite not having a go to WR. |
hmm no trade talks with the saints? If we were to trade up this would be the area to start. It has been quite on the thread
http://blackandgold.net/site/index.p...6efe8b3409d16d guess all is good at 27 |
with only 2 cbs of the board and no dts or lbs to move up for, i would stick it out at 27 right now. unless there is a rush on corners, which might happen, what would you want to trade up for?
|
With Willis Willis, Okoye, Hall, and Revis gone... I think we're good at 27.
