Eagles release Pro Bowl LB Trotter....

This is another one where i'm afraid we can wish in one hand and______ in the other ans see which one fills up first. As bad as we think we may want and need him......alas we're not the ones that pull the trigger.

Personally, i am kind of on the fence with bringing him in...but i dont think that there is much of a chance the coaches or FO would do it. I do kind of think that he has been one of the players in the league that gets more credit than he is due, and having him come in to compete with the guys we already have may disrupt whatever chemistry they have. I dont know...I have no feelings on this one way or the other. I will let you guys know something if i hear anything.

As xan said, there was a reason he was cut. He is not the same player, period.
Didn't the Eagles go after Briggs in the off season? They must have known then

Eagles release middle linebacker Trotter

Eagles released LB Jeremiah Trotter.

Trotter's knee troubles sapped his effectiveness last season and he apparently didn't make much progress in camp. There was some speculation in the offseason that Trotter might hang up his cleats for good. Omar Gaither likely now moves into the starting lineup at middle linebacker. Aug. 21 - 10:18 am et

If Trotter was Trotter of two years ago, I would love to have him on this team. He's not the same guy and I doubt he'd want to come here and backup both Simoneau and Simmons. I think I'm going to be in the minority here.

i also would love to have trotter of 2 years ago.not happening.philly not dumb enough to just cut him,if he was that good.i think we would pounce if he was.
