Agreed but if we brought him in even for spot duty he would allow us move LBers all around as needed if injuries happen. If he starts, he starts. If not oh well. Flexibility in depth across the board for the LBer corp would priceless.

Re: Eagles release Pro Bowl LB Trotter....
Living in the Philly area, I'll give you the skinny on "Trot". (That's all that sports radio has been talking about for the past few days here anyway.)
The Eagles drafted LB's and are looking for speed and future development. #54 doesn't fit into their plans. He's still a force to be reckoned with in the middle run stop capacity, but they apparently feel that their issues at NT are now over and that they prefer speed to power that he brings to the field. Keep in mind that the Eagles rarely make a big roster move without some sort of viable contingency as replacement so I don't doubt their decision to let him go was a good one for that squad... HOWEVER, he's still got plenty left in the tank and will do nothing but help our squad in a run for the Super Bowl this year. I say, kick Dhani (and his bowtie) to the curb and bring him in on a one year contract. I don't think we'll regret it. After all, he was head and shoulders over Simoneau when he was in Philly. Why not upgrade now that he's available? |

Re: Eagles release Pro Bowl LB Trotter....
Ok here we go with the remix
SLB - Fugita, Evans MLB - Trotter, Simoneau, Simmons WLB - Shanle, Dahni If Dahni can not prove at WLB (his natural position) his worth he could be odd man out. Then again Who ends up #3 at MLB could be out. I would bank on the rookies. Looking at what we are missing is a top notch back up LB that swing from the MLB to the SLB or vice versa. Right now we have 2 (Simmons and Shanle) that can do the WLB to MLB or vise versa. MBL Simoneau is to suppose to be the most flexable of them all when it comes to playing out of postion. Correct me if I am wrong. Unless Fincher steps up his game. Evans maybe? Either way the times we go to a four LB set we are better off with Totter here. That is not a bad rotaion if we keep them all. Money is the issue I know. But IF |
