Duece has to get his carries - a minimum of 15 per game. Everything else works when defenses have to stack the line to stop the run. When Duece get 100 we win...check the stats. The one REAL problem that we had last year was Corners: good cover corners. We didn't address it during the off season. Our biggest Corner/Safety is 6' 1" and that's counting the helmet and the cleats. Even when we cover well we can't stop big receivers...and every team has one - some have two. If we can control the ball on offense (Duece/Karney) everyone else will have a good day, including our defense.

I agree with pretty much everything that his been said here. This is seriously one of the best threads I've seen on this board in a while.

Sean! Listen to us! Put in Simmons, KK, and Hollis Thomas, and give Deuce the f***ing ball.

I'll agree on everything except for putting KK in the starting lineup. I think he'll be exposed if we make him a full time starter(he was a part time player/spot starter in Cincy). I'm still behind Bullocks with Harper... now if we start a long losing streak, I might change my tune. This is the first time he'll be under the same DC two years in a row. I expect big things out of him. No one had a good first game... we can't replace them all.

Re: Message To Coach Payton

I hope the reduced pressure on both sides of the ball by TB as opposed to Indy does not lull us into a false sense of security. The good thing about playing Indy in the 1st game is that they had a lot of what I call pressure points. Manning & the rest of the O, the pass rush, their defensive scheme, etc. All these pushed us to our breaking point...which is a good thing. Now we have to adjust accordingly with IMO the insertion of Simmons, KK & running Deuce in a more balanced way. And finally, realizing that playing man D should be avoided as much as possible until we can get the kinks out of our technique or get timely safety help...if possible.

Dead on point my man! Force a team stop Deuce and the 'Karneyvore' and the game goes wide-the-hell-open!

Or to steal a quote from Gary Busey from the 90's movie, "Soldier": 'My daddy always said, When you want to hammer a nail, don't do anything fancy. Just get a hammer and pound the son of a *****.'

We know Sean loves the pass, but sometimes you need a little meat to go with the gravy.

Papzy, you sure he was a spot starter? I'm pretty sure he led NFL safeties in interceptions last season. I guess if you're right, he's a hell of a bench player...

Hmm, you may be right.

I say put him in the game at the red-zone. Probably his most effective area.

IMO Deuce will be traded next season, it's not something I'm looking forward to be I think he's a player that the Saints need to help win games but I agree, he's not be used enough, I hope to see him get more carries, I don't think Bush is a back that can carry a team alone so if Deuce is traded next year as I think he will the saints will have to get him some help back there..
My two cents worth..

Re: Message To Coach Payton

Duce runs means Bush runs and vice a versa. end of story
KK is good at run support but like Bullocks he can be exploited in the passing game.
