That is why they got depth during the draft, because they know that they would get injuries. I have no problem with who they drafted, becasue they will need the depth this season, as everyone can see.

Frankee - - If "if's and and's" were Pots and Pans, this world would be a kitchen. Pittman, if you remember, couldn't block a fart. Thank God he's gone, or Drew could be dead.
I don't remember the Saints using a crystal ball in the war room this year..... |

WAY TO EARLY to rate the draft. You got to give these guys time to develop and get use to the faster game.
If you want to argue draft picks lets argue Reggie. When we could have got an OL or a DL. That is where our problems have been and we still haven't address them and look where we are now... 0-4. |

Now 3 games into the season, you're ready to say we never addressed our problem?? Horsesh**!! |

Re: This is why you don't cut 4th round picks
4th round picks should never be cut in their first year. The real issue is Pittman should have never been drafted by the Saints in the first place. The Saints cut him because he got beaten out of his job by Pierre Thomas. At least getting Thomas kind of softens the blow of a wasted draft pick. The main issue with Pittman is he is horrible at blocking, and really did not put up very good numbers running the ball. I think in time he could have solved those problems, but to me the Saints really botched this one. They really should have taken a defensive prospect with that pick.

Re: This is why you don't cut 4th round picks
How does this team go from havin the best offense in the league to only bein able to score on garbage time? All this talk about the o-line suckin take a look at the stats. We have been throwin the ball alot in situations where the other team knows we are goin to be throwin and we have givin up only 4 sacks. That is not a bad avg per att of course there has been alot of pressure but Brees does get rid of ball sometimes to the other team. Our average per rush attempt is better than 3.5 which is comparable to other teams which is good countin all the dancin Bush does before he reaches the line of scrimage and then he decides to run for the sidelines. This o-line was good enough last year to anchor the best offense in the league and that is not a fluke if you do it all year long.

We had one that got by and looked good at times but we only went 10-6, 2 games away from 500. You use the lines to keep you in games and to win. Look what happened last year against good teams... we got spanked! We were not in the games against teams that had good lines. Our lines have sucked for a few years now and no matter who we have in the back field they are going to struggle. We have got to build the O and D lines.
