If you go back and actually look at the games you'll see it was the Safties they were picking on not him. Safties are to often out of place!

You do need to go back and look at the games. I don't know much about football but isn't it the cornerbacks job to cover wide receivers? I may be wrong though but I think that's why they're usually lined up opposite them. Can someone confirm this observation of mines?
