Walker's a big baby... there's no need to bring him here. 2 of the last 3 years he's been injured and he's a "me" type of player.

If Johnson is not tagged and all we need is to pony up the money I am all for it. Maybe we can trade them J. David, Bullocks, some other crappy defensive player for him. Our offense is not perfect, good but not great. Speed kills and without speed you get killed. I love Colston but he does not have great speed, he needs someone opposite him that can draw some attention, and Patten and Henderson are not gonna cut it. Maybe Meachum will, but if not and no draft choices are required I say get C JOhnson. |

We cannot afford to deplete the offensive talent pool. We need to resign our own free agents or find suitable replacements. But augmenting the offense with blockbusters like Johnson before addressing the teams woeful defense? Not a chance. SFIAH |

Skip. this guy thinks he is bigger than the game. He is a great WR but I do not put him a locker room as a positive team leader. I would rather do a Ditka and trade away this year draft FOR Fitz from the cards than bring him aboard.

Re: Ocho Cinco in black and gold
I can't believe we're even arguing this. Everyone wants defense but keeps saying YEAH BUT...
"YEAH BUT if we had another receiver to complement Colston our offense would be the best!" We were 4th in offensive rankings this year and had such a great cast at wideout that our first round pick never even sniffed the field. They'll be even better next year as it is. "YEAH BUT if we had a good back the running game would work!" Pierre Thomas ripped apart the vaunted Monsters of the Midway, in their house, in the middle of December. If Deuce can't come back, we've already found his replacement. If Reggie actually puts it together, watch out. "YEAH BUT the offensive line sucks we need some toughness in there!" Brees was sacked the least of any quarterback this year: 15 times. That's less than one sack a game. When Reggie wasn't breakdancing in the backfield Aaron Stecker and PT were gashing opposing defenses and they aren't exactly household names. The simple facts: 1. If you wear the same color jersey Brees will find you; if we didn't have the most stone-handed receivers this side of Philly we wouldn't even be having this discussion. 2. We are quickly turning into Denver with our ability to plug in undrafted and journeymen RBs and watch them put up surprising numbers, and our offense isn't even based on rushing. 3. We have a very solid line, most of whom are young, with room to get better and tons of depth behind them. Stinchcomb walks? Bushrod or Strief takes his spot. Nesbit finally falls off? Alleman gets his chance to be a monster. 4. Chad Johnson is a crybaby prima donna who is going to hurt the team more than help. Even if we needed more help at wideout, there's no way any of us should support that move. And most importantly... 5. New York just beat the living snot out of the most acclaimed offensive group in living memory with a vicious front seven, a good scheme, and sheer willpower. I'm not sure about you guys, but while I don't mind having records if we won the Superbowl I could die happy. |
