A perfect world would have this D-Line letting opposing QB's get a good look at the roof of the Dome all day from their backs.

Porter is strictly a man cover corner, which is what we need. If he is a liability in the running game, so be it. I rather have a corner that is an asset in the passing game and liability in the running game than the other way around. Flowers is a slow cover two corner, wouldnt fit our system.

I like the picks. I think we'd be better off in the short run with Shockey on the roster than any CB in the draft. Just my two cents on that.

I am however confused about people thinking this or that player is "a better fit" for our team. This sounds strange to me. We have NFL coaches right? These guys are supposed to design systems that fit the players (now that doesn't always work out, but that is their job). This is why whether or not you draft for need or BPA, you pick the best player you can - not the most "fit" player. That would just be odd.

listen...i never said dorsey is better than ellis...go back and read my post bro...i said i like ellis better...we dont have that really strong DT....while dorsey is overall better....there is not question who is stronger....ellis has one of the strongest upper bodies in the draft

I think the problem may have been the ambiguity in the word "strong". One of you meant strength (as in bench press, for example), the other strong (as in overall quality of player, for example).

perhaps :)

You can keep the upper body strength. I want some explosiveness off the line of scrimmage. You can't coach speed. Anyone can hit the weight room though.

Hey we didn't end up with Dorsey and the next best player on the board at any position was Ellis. HELL TO THE YEAH you take him. The Saints / D-line coach knows exactly what he is getting and will get that line ready to go. I am happy with it, we got younger and better across the board with that pick.

I'd be careful not to hype Tracey Porter to much though.

you cant coach speed....thats right and i love dorsey's quickness...i gotta admit tho...ellis' strength is so impressive and it just shows how hard he is willing to work to be a great football player....i cant wait to see how hard he works in the NFL
