Re: Best Saints Running Back
No no, that would be Reggie's jock. Canton isn't really a Mike Bell fan. He's a rabid Reggie fan. He is against anyone that threatens Reggie's status and playing time. Since Pierre is surrently the biggest threat, that's who he is trying to marginalize. He's been making excuses, excuses, excuses for Reggie from day 1. Even when Reggie doesn't play, he makes excuses against whomever is playing. The remark about the Bills defense being worn down is the weakest, most spiteful remark I've ever heard from a Saints fan. I'm glad our players don't act like that. Reggie, Pierre, and Heath are good friends (not sure about Mike and Lynell), and they strongly support each other. That's the way it's supposed to be.

Re: Best Saints Running Back
perhaps.....but 14 carries is hardly enough to be labeled a starter......now the coaching staff may feel thats enough when bell returns but for now thats still up in the air

Re: Best Saints Running Back
Sure it was only 14 carries, but he averaged 9 YPC and two scores to Bell's one in two games. I'd say that pretty much got his job back. And do you seriously think Bell starting one extra game solidifies a starting job? Wait...Don't answer that. I know the answer already.
Oh, yeah...If you want to get really down to it. Bell's 143 yard performance was against the Lions. And 138 of his 229 yards all came in the second half against "tired, worn down defenses". |

Just a thought. Just to reiterate: running back by committee, with the healthiest guy getting most of the carries. If everyone is healthy, then PT23 as the starter, Bell as the backup. Reggie is his regular spot. But after that TD run in Philly, Reggie may actually earn more carries. SFIAH |
