He's 11th in punt average, 12th net average and 12th in average return yards, and that includes the 43 yarder the team gave up against detroit. 16 PR yards since then. He's above average so far. He's not the second coming of Ray Guy, but he's getting it done. |

off Morstead, back on topic:
I'll own up to the absolute lack of love I have shown for Devery. He has been consistent, and sometimes even spectacular. if I have to consume Crow, does anyone object if I choose this: http://www.purelycanadian.com/Images/OldCrow.jpg |

Re: Crow... the other other white meat
He is 12th in net average. Only punted 10 times which equates to 20% of his punts land inside the 20 and only 7 of his 10 punts have been returned for 8.4 yard average. tied for 4th with touchbacks on kickoffs. His stock is rising.

On his punts, they seem to hang forever and our coverage seems light years better than it has been - I attribute it to the punter and that hangtime but perhaps I shouldn't.![]()
Further analysis is needed, but for the time being I'll trust my eyes and what I see and write off the stats as "misleading". |

Crow marinaded in creole sauce - might not be too bad LOL.
I agree most of the moves made by Payton and the staff have really worked out well. Exception might be the drafting of the Demon Deacon twins who both unluckily got hurt. |

Re: Crow... the other other white meat
I would like to say a big I WAS WRONG about two of our players...Jeremy Shockey. Thought he was a troublemaker and a huffy prima donna who threw his toys out of the pram when things didn't go his way. He has been solid and seems to have a better attitude. Even when he's on the sidelines he is encouraging and seems to be motivated. The next one, Scott Shanle. wasn't my most favourite Linebacker but he has come out this season and played well enough that if he carries on in the same vein will be a pro bowler. Some of you may laugh but I have noticed that he is around the ball much more than last year, seems to have a new lease of life. However I will stand by what I said; Shanle for the pro bowl if he carries on doing what he is doing. The true test though, is when the Saints are behind which they have not been this year. Buffalo was a stern test but do we have the character to bounce back when we're bloodied and on one knee? So far the morale says we have.

Frenzy, I respect the heck out of you for that post. I know we've gone around on the Shockey topic and I'm just glad the guy is healthy and playing to his potential.
Sometimes it's feels good to be wrong. Now, has anyone seen Boonedock Saint? LOL |

Re: Crow... the other other white meat
I am still wanting more from the pro bowler myself before I eat crow on that deal. Good addition yes. Worth the picks? hmmmm waiting and watching
Moorestead may have a few number skewed but he has improved with each game. Rookie jitters? maybe. I am cooking my crow right now. It is on slow cook but by game 8 it should be ready. |
