I don't really mind the occasional 15 yard roughness penalties. It just part of being aggressive. Vilma is not a dirty player, and it did not appear he was trying to hurt Manning. A good call by the ref, even if we do not like or agree with the rules. Let's face it, we really don't want anyone hitting Brees, so I can live with it.

Re: Vilma's hit on Manning
As I explained to my fiance, it appears as though Eli was being hit as if he was in a car accident the way his head went. I won't say I didn't laugh but I'm glad he's ok. Legit call, I can live with it now that the demolishing has been complete, but another Sharper pick 6 would have been oh so sweet.

Re: Vilma's hit on Manning
I'm surprised practically all of us believe it was the right call. It says a lot. That pick six would have been sick though. It's nice to have a leader back their leading by example with his play. One of the best off season signings of any team.

Re: Vilma's hit on Manning
Sweet picture lumm0x.
It was definitely late, and definitely helmet-to-helmet. If it hadn't ruined a pick six, I actually wouldn't have minded it. Love to see guys flying around out there with reckless abandon... |

Re: Vilma's hit on Manning
Launched and led with the head on a hit of the QB. Will cost him atleast $25K and it should. Vilma has to be smarter. That was a 14 point swing. Thankfully, it didn't matter.

Re: Vilma's hit on Manning
If you think it was cool on tv, you should have seen it live.
You know, I'll just never belong in modern times. People wearing helmets to ride bicycles. Kids cant ride in the back of the truck. And that perfect form tackle yesterday is now a Brady Penalty. Such BS. But then Matt gives us this: good point. |

Re: Vilma's hit on Manning
In the NFL caption they call Vilma Scott Fujita ? Hope Fujita is alright though maybe if his injury is serious now they would bring in Smith or Brooks. Guess the best is to wait till we here how serious this is. I really underrated our linebackers coming into this season though and if this is not serious I do not think a move is necessary
Eli is good people but I still can't stand the way he came in the NFL I am surprised that he got that one off. He took one for his team that time so I have to give him credit. $25K is way out of proportion even if I do not like Eli I think this is a good rule. Almost all the players nowadays seem to lead with their head more so than the shoulder as it should be. This is the reason we see more and more concussions. I don't know sometimes is may just be coincidental. |
