Yes I know that it could happen today, or happen next week. But in those instances the team is still playing for something relevant to the playoffs. In this instance it's absolutely positively meaningless in terms of getting to the ultimate goal. Also if it happened sooner rather than later, there may still be time to recover. I would feel both cheated and foolish if something like that happened. As I have said, let them play enough to be sharp. Look at the preseason. Brees played not at all in the Miami game, the last preseason game. Did he look rusty against the Lions the next week. What makes you think these guys will forget how to light it up if they take some time off. I don't mean not practice. I don't even mean not to play in the game. But a series or two just to get warmed up should be sufficient to stay sharp.
I'm not saying take all the time off. All I'm saying, and will continue to say, is to be smart about it because the most important thing now is to be healthy for the playoffs. There is nothing more important than that right now. Nothing. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
