Re: Colts Receivers better than Ours?
Yes, you are correct. It's really hard for some fans to give their opponents the respect they deserve and to come to terms they are evenly matched. You guys earned and deserve your spot. From an outsider, I see the defenses evenly matched with the Saints having the edge in the secondary and running game. Colts secondary is suspect, and I think Brees can and will keep up with Manning and quite honestly, I'm just having a real hard time thinking of any reasons the Saints will lose unless they shoot themselves in the foot. If the Saints can keep from beating themselves, I can see a Lombardi in your trophy case.

Re: Colts Receivers better than Ours?
But the thing is that Indy must be schizo or bi-polar (no offense to those who have the legit problem), because one minute he concedes defeat to the Saints, and the next, he's touting the Dolts offense as the best there is. Make up your mind, Indy!

Re: Colts Receivers better than Ours?
Both squads are good. I can only comment on two issues in this whole thread. 1. don't lump "Colts Fans" all into the same bag. 2. Shockey and Clark are WAY different receivers. Although Clark is officially a TE, he plays the slot as much as anywhere, and is not a prototypical TE like Shockey is. Personally, I think Shockey is a punk... but I also admit, that editing can make a pretty good guy look bad. He's probably OK, but has a lot of passion that sometimes gets expressed in a less than appropriate way. But Clark creates match-up problems for defenses. LB's struggle with his speed, and DB's struggle with his size. Not to mention... that if there are DB's covering Clark... that sure frees up Wayne, Collie OR Garcon for a man to man, that Peyton will find. And the Colts are down Marvin Harrison AND Antonio Gonzales this year.
I am not that familiar with the Saints receiver corps... other than they, and drew brees put up a LOT of offense this year. Jabba |

Re: Colts Receivers better than Ours?
They are two different issues. There is no question the Colts have the better offensive unit, but that doesn't mean they will win the game, because as the local and national media has said, the Colts are defenseless without Freeney and the Saints will role.

Re: Colts Receivers better than Ours?
If the Dolts have better WR than the SAINTS, why did the Black & Gold lead the league in O? Who Dat!
Sure, all teams have wide outs. We have Colston, Henderson, Meach and REG-GIE! too? Get out of town. The Dolts D had better bring their A game, is more like it. WE LEAD THE LEAGUE IN OFFENSE, lest ye forget. Neighbor please. |

The Saints, not the Colts have the better offensive unit. Saints have 4 big time recievers to the Colts' 2 1/2 (Collie is not that wonderful). The Saints have 3 RB's to the Colts' 1. Let's call the TE position a wash. Besides that, the number 1 offense in the NFL this season is New orleans. The Colts aren't even number 2. The Colts have the 25th rushing O where the Saints led the league for much of the year until PT got hurt (who is fully healthy again). The Saints can run well and extend drives. |

Re: Colts Receivers better than Ours?
The AFC was 10 games better than the NFC this year in head to head games. The AFC South had 38 wins in the divisional teams. The worst one was 7-9 Jags. The NFC South won 33 games, with the lowly Bucs at 3-13 who you LOST to. Now... granted it was in garbage time at the end of the year... just like our losses to the JETS and the Bills. Throw away games. But the rest is pretty undisputable. The NFC South was mediocre. The AFC South was the best in the NFL.
