Re: 2010 NFL Draft
why are we picking 31?
You know, I'm sitting out all the "lets pay this guy this much," or "lets let this guy go" or "Lets see what we can get for this guy" threads. And I especially dont want to participate, or even read about Reggie going anywhere. Not to hate on that type discussion, as for some people, playing GM is part of the fun of following sports--- this is America, and thats O.K. for you to do. Its just my personal preference, that Im not into all the horse-trading, salary talk, etc. But thats just me. I love all these guys, and want to keep them all, even Charles Grant. But as for Draft talk, Im definitely IN. Not that I have the slightest idea what talent is coming up from the colleges. One thing I can say--- we sure didnt get much time to focus on the draft, did we---- bruhahahahahahaha! cuz its the SHORTEST offseason in Saints History!!!!! |

Bro, when you make down east Acadiana near Thibodaux; there's plenty crawfish and beer to discuss the draft; if Al Gore's Global Warming Effect ever kicks in so the crawfish will come out for supper! And I'll get my little one hooked up with the Jr. Saintsations! |

Re: 2010 NFL Draft
besides the big names?
Dorin Dickerson, Pittsburgh Height: 6-1. Weight: 226. Projected 40 Time: 4.55. Combine 40 Time: 4.40. Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 43. Arm: 34. TE? Short yardage and goal line back to boot! I smell our new third down back and maybe a future situational FB/HB? I knew he was fast but he was unbielavable in the drills. I have to agree with Maylock for the first time this year. If he is there at 64 I would love to see the saints grab him. If he repeats these numbers on pro day I see him moving up into the second round out of the reach of the saints. Dennis Pitta, BYU Height: 6-4. Weight: 245. Projected 40 Time: 4.66. Combine 40 Time: 4.63. Benchx225: 27. Vertical: 34. Arm: 32 1/4. Projected Round (2010): 3-4. read my blog on this kid. http://blackandgold.com/blogs/hagan7...ive-draft.html He is just what the saints need at TE. He is SMART. Now he answered the big question about his athleticism. That's no longer a question. He looked great. I would not mind if the saints took both players in the draft in rounds 2 and 3. OC Eric Olsen, Notre Dame Height: 6-4. Weight: 306. Projected 40 Time: 5.19. Combine 40 Time: 5.22. Benchx225: 35. Arm: 32 1/2. Projected Round (2009): 4-5. I know ND suxed last year but Olsen was not the reason the OL was bad. He was the only player to suit up for every game they played and play he did. New name to watch OT Tony Washington, Abilene Christian Height: 6-6. Weight: 311. Projected 40 Time: 5.10. Combine 40 Time: 5.19. Benchx225: 33. Arm: 35 1/2. Projected Round (2010): 2-3 Ed Wang, Virginia Tech Height: 6-5. Weight: 314. Projected 40 Time: 4.93. Combine 40 Time: 5.14. Benchx225: 29. Arm: 33 3/4. Projected Round (2010): 4-5 OG Vladimir Ducasse, UMass Height: 6-4. Weight: 332. Projected 40 Time: 5.40. Combine 40 Time: 5.21. Benchx225: 29. Arm: 34 3/4. Projected Round (2010): 2-3 Marshall Newhouse, TCU Height: 6-4. Weight: 319. Projected 40 Time: 5.09. Combine 40 Time: 5.00. Benchx225: 25. Arm: 34. Projected Round (2010): 3-4 |

Re: 2010 NFL Draft
If either Eric Olsen of Marshall Newhouse is there in round 4, you gotta grab him and continue the streak of the Saints stealing offensive linemen in the mid rounds...
Olsen is a beast and could play quickly where Newhouse may need a year to bulk and improve his game as well... |

Re: 2010 NFL Draft
Joique Bell, Wayne State, 5-11, 223
nice pick up but I say he and Charles Scott, LSU, 6-0, 234 might be around at the bottom of the 4th. Want a screwy player to look at in say the 6th, LaMarcus Coker, Hampton, 5-11, 205, 4.32 2008 Coker was dismissed from Tennessee after failing his fourth drug test. He hasn't been in trouble in a long time, and appears to have turned his life around. Love to be a fly on the wall for his interview. |
