IMO Weatherspoon and Jerry Hughes are the top OLB in the draft. We would be lucky to grab either one at 32.

hagan loves sergio kindle

i dont know a whole lot about him but i know he played DE last season

people are looking at him as a 3-4 OLB but that might just be because he could play DE or LB and people cant make up their ****ing minds

Canton you might like this, I'm looking around for some late round offensive lineman and really like Kyle Calloway OT Iowa, Chris Marinelli OT Stanford and Marshall Newhouse OG TCU, any thoughts? Just thought I'd throw out some names cause the Saints seem to draft o-line later in the draft

im nervous about any of the offensive linemen from iowa. i love the big 10 linemen because they are run first and pass second. they learn correct drop steps in under center formations and learn to hold blocks longer because they arent in a spread offense. but mike iupati is a guy that is very high on several teams' boards IMO and he played right next to calloway for the majority of the season. careful watching 2 offensive linemen play together because often times 1 of them is a lot better than the other and it makes up for their inefficiencies

calloway seems to be able to play both sides so hes an interesting prospect but the places ive looked scout him more at right tackle...his arms are also a bit short for starting NFL linemen but he could be great depth should we chose to shop any of our other offensive linemen

Chris Marinelli OT Stanford
he's huge. at 6'7" 303 he looks like he could maul anybody. i love the stanford linemen but his height may be his downfall......he plays a bit high which is why he may be projected so low in the draft. would struggle with guys who come right at him and push him off balance....nice choice tho

smart guys always have a place in the NFL and the way stanford played this season is almost a complete credit to their offensive line

ridiculously fast guy person. for how big he is he might project better to tackle......could probably play guard just as easily tho. seems to me like he could get up to the 2nd level very easily

remember the early 3rd round is where most good guards go in the draft. newhouse will likely be gone before we pick in the 3rd but an interesting prospect nonetheless

the dude is giant, even when he gets blocked, he still wins the battle. if he stalemates the offensive linemen then he wins the battle.

there isnt a guy in the league right now who could block him consistantly and he would greatly increase our ability to stop the run. that would be a huge advantage in a division that runs the ball more than any other division in football

everyone in our division runs the ball to set up the pass. we stop the run and we make them 1 dimensional. everybody knows how deadly we are on defense when we know they are passing

Great point! A player like Cody is a must for us. Smith-Cody-Ellis-Hargrove, can't really run on that defensive front. We would be tough to beat. My first two picks would be Cody and Spikes.

I agree with hagan on this one. Kindle may be the best pick in this draft.

Rate Kindle how you like, but the kid will go top 12.

That's because half the teams in the NFL run the 3-4 now, and he would be a stud in that base. It's silly to even bring his name up unless you think the Saints love him so much they are willing to trade their entire draft away to move up into the top 15.

32. New Orleans Saints: Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas
With Scott Fujita defecting for Cleveland, New Orleans' two biggest needs are now defensive end and strongside linebacker. Coincidentally, Sergio Kindle can play both.

Kindle could be utilized like fellow Longhorn Brian Orakpo was used in Washington in 2009. Depending on the situation, Kindle could drop into coverage or rush the passer from the defensive end position. I'm sure Gregg Williams would love to have someone with Kindle's versatility on the roster.
