He has played great for us, but remember that he is doing the job of a rookie or second year player. We can't overpay someone who is easily replaced.

And St. Thomas, I know what you're saying...just would hate to see any of these players like Roby or even Lance Moore get swelled heads and think they are worth more than what they have shown so far. I'd love to have them back, but not if it means breaking the bank over them.
dan, i really think roby would get scooped up quick. hes proven that he can dominate the special teams in returns and kick off coverage. we would lose him in a money battle i think, being with all the other contracts going ala, bush and others.

Give him a bone or two, but don't go crazy! As stated earlier, he is just special teams. While he has been better then most recently, we could still be better. And it's not like the Saints cannot attract good FA to come here either.

I agree that a lot of money for a special team-er, albeit a good one, isn't especially wise but we must remember that special teams is a factor in the game of football. The Saints punter did a great job this year in pinning teams further back and Roby did a great job in both returns and tackles.

I don't know what the Saints should offer Roby in terms of money I just hope that they keep him.

I have no problem with us re-signing him but he is very expendable imo. We have plenty of options on the team already that could easily replace him on kickoffs. As far as the gunning on punts, we also could easily sign a John Wendling etc. to do that job. It really all depends on what he's looking for. On the priority list of free agents, he's in the middle to bottom of the pack.

I leave it to the staff to make these decisions.

None of you are really qualified to chime in on the matter. Sure you
have an opinion... but opinions are like fingers. Everyone has at least
ten.

Roby is a no brainer. Loyalty is a principle.

You have no problem voicing your opinion. Why shouldn't we voice ours? This is a message board. That is what it is for! The members to voice their opinion on topics concerning the Saints or other topics. Topics discussed such as this one are hypothetical.

Since we are on opinions, here's mine. You should go start your own message board just for you to voice your opinion and replies on and make yourself the only member, because you are the only one that cares what you have to say. Don't forget to call yourself a D-Bag repeatedly.

I was trying to keep from being banned, because what I do want to say would give me a "Pete Rose".

EDIT: Plus, I refuse to stoop to his level.
