this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Pay him what he is worth and keep him around. He's a good return man and provides great coverage on kickoffs......pay him and keep him....

Re: Free Agent Series: What should the Saints offer Courtney Roby?
He has played great for us, but remember that he is doing the job of a rookie or second year player. We can't overpay someone who is easily replaced.

Give him a bone or two, but don't go crazy! As stated earlier, he is just special teams. While he has been better then most recently, we could still be better. And it's not like the Saints cannot attract good FA to come here either.

I don't know what the Saints should offer Roby in terms of money I just hope that they keep him. |

Re: Free Agent Series: What should the Saints offer Courtney Roby?
I have no problem with us re-signing him but he is very expendable imo. We have plenty of options on the team already that could easily replace him on kickoffs. As far as the gunning on punts, we also could easily sign a John Wendling etc. to do that job. It really all depends on what he's looking for. On the priority list of free agents, he's in the middle to bottom of the pack.

I leave it to the staff to make these decisions.
None of you are really qualified to chime in on the matter. Sure you have an opinion... but opinions are like fingers. Everyone has at least ten. Roby is a no brainer. Loyalty is a principle. |
