this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Ok ok...Jake was signed with the Steamers...it is what it is. Now the real question and debate should be who the hell is going to be the #2 for us next year?...

Winners want the ball, when the game's on the line. You can also say, that a good leader, has to become a good follower as well. I don't hate Jake, but he is a freaking crybaby. Accomplishments? Yes, he went to a Superbowl, but close only counts in horseshoes, and hand grenades. Dan Marino went to a superbowl, so did Boomer Esiason. Jake isn't close to the talent, of either one of those guys. And don't get me started on the qbs that have BEEN to the superbowl, that no one hear would probably even know if I did. I wish Jake all the luck in the world. And yes, I am glad he's not in New Orleans. Qbs, are kind of like ex's. There is a reason why they are "ex's".

I keep harping on Hebert, but why don't people feel animosity toward him? What he did was hundreds times worse, IMO. For the record, I could take him or leave him...but I'm kinda glad he will get another shot in Cleveland. He would never get that shot here unless Brees went down, and we don't even want to think about that. Jake can be a jerk at times, also...so this whole thing played out pretty good as far as I'm concerned. |

Bobby never proclaimed his undying love for Atlanta like Jake has done recently for Carolina. Mike thinks he's getting a leader in Cleveland. I think he's getting an average, at best, QB on the downside of his career. Hell, they could have signed Brunell for the same performance and about half the money. Oh well...it's their money, not mine. I wish Jake the best too, but I'm extatic that he's not going to be back in N.O. Giddy. Joyous. Relieved. Thankful. |

Re: Jake Delhomme to Visit Saints (Cleveland signs Jake)
To me, he was forced out of town. When you are not allowed to start when the starter obviously is injured, then you know right there that you probably aren't going to get a chance unless the starter's arm gets ripped off.
As it was, he saw a better chance to win a starting job in Carolina...and ultimately he was right. Haslett and crew mortgaged the farm on AB and we were force-fed the smiling idiot even when he couldn't get the job done physically. If I would have been in JD's situation, I'm sure I would have done the same thing...and I'm sure he's glad he went there, too. |

If you tell yourself something long enough you eventually begin to think it's true. I think this is what has happened to a lot of Jake Delhomme fans. |

Things are changing in Cleveland. They actually have a brain in the front office now. |

right when they get some good players in, they get rid of some quality players look at the DT they traded to the lions....they just traded one of their best LBs to the raiders....and even tho they brought in fujita, they lost brodney poole and let go of hank fraley its nice to see a giant overhaul like this, but is it for the better of the team? i dont know yet......they are still in a pretty deep hole the good thing is that mike holmgren knows how to run a team and eric mangini knows how to draft |
