We'll have an above average defense and the top offense which I think is the same recipe we used to get to the Super Bowl last year. On defense we should be a little better than last year, but not much better. Our first rounder went to strengthening an already solid group of corners. We won't be that much better until we get another strong DT and another LBer.jmo

I say Yes we do have a top 10 defense we will finish 4th in total defense!!! would be higher if our pup(s) were healthy, CBs are almost completely shut down guys (Bernard Berrian is fast as hell, he didnt exist Thursday) just gotta get better at shifting coverage on crossing routes with the LBs an Harper. Remi Ayodelle looks alot larger this year hes doin pretty well so far pwned Hutchinson on multiple playes Sed Ellis is the real deal hes blowin through the OL hopefully he keeps it up and channels his inner Norman Hand (RIP)

Ravens and Jets overload blitz almost ever play if u throw 8 in th box with a delayed blitz from the SS you'd crush run plays often as well

According to good statistics we were a #14 defense when healthy last year.

I think this D can be a Top 10 or Top 12 defense. I especially liked Gregg Williams using a lot of 3-4 in the Vikings game, something the Vikes were totally unprepared for (especially LBs dropping back in coverage, and not blitzing a lot).
And with Williams' exotic schemes meant to confuse rival offenses (3-3-5, Buddy Ryan's old 46, standard 4-3, and a 4-4-3--playing the SS Harper in a LB configuration) Williams has multiple ways of doing that. And a blitz could come from anywhere (LB, CB, or S, or any combination thereof). Or they could all drop back into coverage, depending on the offense. At last count, Williams said he had 29 different personnel and alignment variations he could use on D. |
