I respect, nope, ackmowledge and accept everyone else\'s views.
Me - # 87 was not classless. Joe did not taunt the opposition, Joe did not taunt the opposition fans, Joe did not make any gestures that were immoral or likely to cite a riot, Joe - actually - did not take all day about it. Shame it had a pre-meditated touch to it. But I am now really pleased he did it because for the first time in a long time I keep seeing the wonderful THE Black & Gold and THE Fleur-de-Lys plastered all over the media, that is subconsiously reminding sports fans that \"that incident\" was when the Saints won well. Frankly, if I was a millionaire I would pay the fine and take the whole Saints out to dinner for the pleasure I have got from the Saints unifrom and logo hogging the tv screens. In short |

My bottom line is that I\'m a football fan. Not old school, not new school. I appreciate a well executed play, offensive or defensive. I appreciate seeing a player make a fantastic effort, regardless of the outcome. I don\'t like the cheap shots, and to me, I really wish George Teague would\'ve rung Owens bell a little harder when he pulled his first stunt.
I think it\'s tough to watch a game you love get exploited in self gratification and commercialism, but if that\'s the way the game is going, I guess I\'ll have to filter what I see and ignore the garbage that comes with it. Believe me, I make a big deal myself about every one of Owens antics, and honestly I wouldn\'t wish that poseur on my team anyday. Hopefully more players like Deuce come out of the colleges. If the upbringing of our players is a problem then perhaps the colleges should take it seriously when they pass someone based on their football talents alone. Funny how Dexter Manley couldn\'t read but he has a college degree.. Have I lit a fire yet? |

I fully agree with what you\'re saying.
As for the colleges not marking the players seriosly, I think that is a serious problem, but I still feel it is better than the NBA where they bring a guy out of high school and give him 90 mil without playing a game. |

Rumor has it that Jerry Jones covered all of Teague\'s fines with the league. [Edited on 17/12/2003 by BlackandBlue] |
