Anyone watch the recent HBO special; "Curious Case of Carl Flood"? Brees basically wants the same thing. |
You guys have to realize that even though Brady, Brees, and Manning "represent" the players, they only truly represent about 1% of the players. These guys are elite, and are or will be the highest paid players in the league. They have a lot more to gain from this posturing than your average player. For every Brady, Manning, or Brees who have multi million dollar contracts there are 100 Arringtons, Shanles, Weatherfords, and Reis', these are the guys who really are the NFL. 99% of the leagues players are just sick and tired of this and want to get back to playing football and making money. FA especially have a lot more to lose than these star players that are in on the negotiations. I can totally understand Shanles frustrations. The average NFL player will never hit free agency as the average career span of an NFL player is 3.5 years (I dont care how Goodall tries to spin it, that is what it is) and will likely be affected by very little of this CBA bull****.

Drew will retire as a saint. Nuff said

This is likely highly contextual and blown out of proportion, but just in case...
Drew, if you let us down, I will find and stab you. Don't become what you fight against. |

I do think that before it is all over we will all have some answers. Personally...I won't be really angry at either of them if they do decide to move their act west a bit. I'm sure, in their heads, they feel that they've all they can do here and more...and I would love to think that people like Drew and Sean could become satisified...but in reality I think they are just the opposite. It is entirely possible that they both would like...hell, their ego's need...a new challenge...and all the money that comes with it wouldn't suck for either of them. NOTE-- The preceding was only my opinion and not necessarily the opinion of this web site's employees & management. |
I wont say I'm worried about Bress leaving; or freaking out, or losing sleep. I wanted some of you "Smart" people to explain what Drew was doing.
As far as Sean and Drew leaving to go coach/play at Big D..... I can give you first hand knowledge about how a REAL, TRUE, competitive coach thinks. 1. He wants to win. 2. He wants to bring a team from nothing into someting. 3. He wants to be challenged. 4. He always is looking for the next challenge. Sean has taken a team from nothing and won a SuperBowl. Almost made it to the big dance twice, and has a great shot to do it again this year. Winning the same ole way; believe it or not, can get boring. Those types of Coaches want harder challenges. Think about it... he became the head coach of a team that was is shambles, homeless, HISTORY OF LOSING, and rumors of moving to another city. How many of you would take a job like that? So, LB's way of thinking is really not that far off. Let's look at Dallas for a second. 1. He came from there 2. He just moved back there 3. JJ can throw more money at him than anyone else 4. Dallas hasn't been a contender since Troy Akin 5. Strato likes Texas Blues 6. Romo is not the answer, As much as they want him to be an elete QB, he never will be. 7. Sean and Drew have a pretty strong Bromance. Drew and Sean have a plan. We just don't know it. |
