I don't think Mankins will be the issue. Jackson, on the other hand.... I think he has a case of "I got's to get mine" on the brain.
The reason I ask about Drew is because, He has to know he is going to get paid by the Saints. For him to want to be a FA out-right. That makes be think he is money hunting now. One of those, "Well boys, I got my MVP and Ring now. Time for Drew to get paid!" Lord, I hope I'm reading too much into this. I pray this lockout ends before I start to hate Pro football. |

This is the part that I am questioning Drew on.
"The Boston Globe said that both Manning and Brees were seeking to avoid the use of a franchise tag, which would make Manning an unrestricted free agent after this season, and give Brees the same status after the 2011 season." Someone explain..... |

WOW our bratty sister board is throwing Brees under a bus. Most are siding with the Vikings punter that called Brees a D-bag.

So, as it is now, Brees becomes a free agent at the end of this season, right? But with the franchise tag, it would keep him from becoming a free agent. So he wants to make a deal that would prevent the Saints from "tagging" him. Therefore becomming a free agent next year anyway. Am I correct on this so far?
Now, he is about to become one of the highest, or maybe even the highest paid NFL player in history, am I correct?. And it sounds like he may want more? Someone help me out. Is this correct, or am I thinking about this all wrong? |
